Hello to you on this Earth Day. Did you do anything special?
Earth Day
Celebration
DateWednesday, April 22, 2026
Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
When I lived in Texas I had a grass yard and used to spend almost every day outside. I felt connected to everything- the sky, trees, plants, insects and other earth beings. Now that I live in a home surrounded by gravel/rocks I don’t spend as much time outside. When it gets warmer I will sit on my front porch some but it’s just not the same as having the privacy of a green back yard. I feel bad for Link as the only grass he gets to enjoy is when we go to my Aunt and Uncles house. Yesterday I had to pick a lot of weeds out back. They are growing through the layer beneath the rocks. I don’t have the lawn people coming and spraying the weeds anymore so I have to do it manually.
A nice prayer I found for this day:
A Prayer for Our Earth (Based on Laudato Si’) “All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty… Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction”.
I’m out on a new road in search for a land with no name And I never looked back, ’cause I’m walking through sunshine and rain I’m a man who has lived in the tombs and who’s broken the chain
Amen Amen
I was blind, but now I see What if God is not for me And I know, it’s time to go
I’ve been used and I’ve been played I’ve been spied on and betrayed And I know, it’s time to go
I defeat the pain (Watch out) I’m alive again The past is gone for good, it’s time to say
Amen Amen Amen Amen
At last, I believe I will be found In the silence of my nights I can hear a distant voice Someone out there is calling my name
I’m not afraid (Watch out) I’m beyond the dread It’s time to turn the page and love again
Amen Amen Amen Amen
I defeat the pain (Watch out) and I cry again I’m leaving all my shadows behind
Don’t be afraid to be weak Don’t be too proud to be strong Just look into your heart my friend That will be the return to yourself The return to innocence
The return to innocence
And if you want, then start to laugh If you must, then start to cry Be yourself don’t hide Just believe in destiny
Don’t care what people say Just follow your own way Don’t give up and use the chance To return to innocence
That’s not the beginning of the end That’s the return to yourself The return to innocence
Lord, I commit this day to You. Please give me strength for the challenges, wisdom for decisions, and peace in my heart. Guide my steps, help me to love well, and use me to bring light to those around me. I trust You with every moment, Amen.
Hello to you. How are you doing? I’m doing ok – just back from my second walk today. It’s really warm! It’s 74 degrees right now. Today began early as Link had his grooming appointment with Clean Pups Diana. She does such a good job with him!
He looks so much better!
My heart goes out to the families that lost their little ones in Louisiana – so senseless! I hope the women involved will be surrounded with love and healing. They will need so much understanding and kindness if they survive their injuries:
A gunman killed eight children and wounded two women in a Northwest Louisiana incident that stemmed from a domestic disturbance, the Shreveport Police Department said Sunday.
The adult male suspect is dead, authorities said. Police named the suspect as 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, of Shreveport. Elkins was believed to be the father of seven of the children killed, Shreveport Police Cpl. Christopher Bordelon said.
I can only imagine What it will be like When I walk by Your side I can only imagine What my eyes would see When Your face is before me I can only imagine Yeah
Surrounded by Your glory What will my heart feel? Will I dance for You Jesus Or in awe of You be still? Will I stand in Your presence Or to my knees, will I fall? Will I sing hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine I can only imagine
I can only imagine When that day comes And I find myself Standing in the Son I can only imagine When all I will do Is forever, forever worship You I can only imagine, yeah I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory What will my heart feel? Will I dance for you Jesus Or in awe of You be still? Will I stand in your presence Or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine, yeah I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory What will my heart feel? Will I dance for you Jesus Or in awe of You be still? Will I stand in your presence Or to my knees, will I fall? Will I sing hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah I can only imagine I can only imagine, yeah-yeah I can only imagine I can only imagine I can only imagine
I can only imagine When all I will do Is forever, forever worship You I can only imagine
Prayer I found online specifically for victims of gun violence:
A Prayer for Healing and Comfort “God of mercy, our hearts ache for those injured in acts of violence. We pray for healing for those who are injured and hospitalized. We pray for comfort for families and friends of each victim. Give solace to grieving communities, and bring peace to anxious hearts. Bring them healing and peace in the face of this tragedy. Amen
Hello to you. Hope this finds you well. I’m just back from a short walk and boy is it windy! I remembered to take my camera so I could get a couple pictures of spring blooms. It was a little tricky with it being so windy.
Spring blooms A bush blooming
Yesterday began early for me. I actually didn’t wake up until my alarm went off! My Aunt invited me to the monthly gathering of Sisters of Grace and they meet at 9:00. When I go with her I drive to her house and then we drive together to the church. She made bread pudding to take along that came out really good. There was a good turnout. The ladies are so welcoming and kind! Being with so many kind souls is good for me. We sang this song that I really like:
Chorus Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy Name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy Name.
Verse 1 The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning; It’s time to sing Your song again. Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me, Let me be singing when the evening comes.
Chorus Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy Name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy Name.
Verse 2 You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger, Your Name is great and Your heart is kind; For all Your goodness I will keep on singing, Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.
Chorus Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy Name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy Name.
Verse 3 And on that day when my strength is failing, The end draws near and my time has come; Still my soul sings Your praise unending, Ten thousand years and then forevermore.
Chorus Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy Name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy Name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy Name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy Name.
Good morning to you. I hope this finds you well. Today’s prayer meeting was just Jeannie and I. The rest of the regulars had stuff going on so we made the best of it. Jeannie had a lot of prayer petitions to lay at the cross for her family especially Roy who fell and cracked his head open recently. He is elderly and lives alone and relies on Jeannie a lot. He needs more than she can give so we are praying his doctor recommends rehab for him. We prayed for our church and the world. What we also prayed for is what’s going on in my head with the pressure and balance in my ears. Everyone has been praying for me about this.
One of my favorite church songs:
God of Wonders
Song by Third Day ‧ 2003
When we finished we agreed that it felt good to lay all our troubles down at the feet of Jesus. Now the challenge is to not pick those things back up and let Jesus do his thing. That’s something my Aunt and Niki talked about yesterday too! I wonder is it a woman thing to want to try and do it ourselves?! Now is the time for faith – believing in the unseen which can be quite a challenge sometimes.
Lord of all creation Lord of water, earth and sky The heavens are your Tabernacle Glory to the Lord on high
And God of wonders beyond our galaxy You are holy, holy The universe declares Your majesty You are holy, holy Lord of heaven and earth Lord of heaven and earth
So early in the morning I will celebrate the light As I stumble in the darkness I will call your name by night
God of wonders beyond our galaxy You are holy, holy The universe declares Your majesty You are holy, holy
Lord of heaven and earth Lord of heaven and earth Lord of heaven and earth Lord of heaven and earth
Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth
The God of wonders beyond our galaxy (You) You are holy, holy Precious Lord, reveal Your heart to me Father, holy, holy (Lord God Almighty)
The universe declares Your majesty (You are holy) You are holy (yes you are), holy (holy You are) Holy (Jesus saves), holy
Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth Hallelujah! To the Lord of heaven and earth
Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?
Hello to you! How are you? I hope this finds you well in your life. In answer to today’s prompt I would have to say that drawing and writing poetry are things I seldom do anymore. I used to spend hours drawing and writing poems came to me very easily. With the medication I’m on to treat Bipolar, Depakote, I am blocked from doing these things. If I do attempt to do them it’s forced and just not very good! I miss being creative in those ways but would rather have my sanity!
I watched this scene from the first season of The Chosen the other night and it brought me to tears:
I found myself thinking about what an amazing thing it must have been to be healed by Jesus. To have him put his hands around my head and look me in my eyes – for him to know me by name! This is the part of me longing for a tangible God! I often think why people don’t follow Jesus is because he isn’t here on earth – tangible. Hollywood movie stars and musicians often fill the void only meant for Jesus – they can be seen, touched and heard. Think of the craze Elvis and The Beatles caused in their day! Right now Jonathan Roumie is doing a fine job of filling the role of Jesus and he takes it very seriously but has said more than once he is not Jesus Christ no matter how much fans want him to be him. He is a servant. His portrayal of Jesus has helped me more than once. It was him I turned to a 4th of July a couple years ago when I was nearly driven to run out of my house and yell at neighbors lighting fireworks all around me. Jesus wasn’t with me tangibly but one of his servants, Jonathan, was when I was calm enough to seek him out. Someday Jesus will tangibly reveal himself to the world and I might not live to see it. I will hopefully see him in heaven if I don’t get to meet him here on earth.
Mark 16:9New International Version
[The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9–20.]
9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Madman, drummers, bummers Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat In the dumps with the mumps As the adolescent pumps his way into his hat With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin’ kinda older I tripped the merry-go-round With this very unpleasin’, sneezin’ and wheezin’ The calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground!
But she was blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Some silicone sister with a manager mister Told me I got what it takes She said, “I’ll turn you on sonny to something strong Play the song with the funky break” And go-kart Mozart was checkin’ out the weather chart To see if it was safe outside And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly And asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride!
But she was blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light
She got down, but she never got tired She’s gonna make it through the night She’s gonna make it through the night
But, mama, that’s where the fun is
But mama, that’s where the fun is Mama always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun But mama, that’s where the fun is
Some brimstone, baritone, anticyclone, rolling stone Preacher from the East Says, “Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in its funny bone That’s where they expect it least And some new-mown chaperone standin’ in the corner Watchin’ the young girls dance And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin’ with his frozen zone Remind him of romance
The calliope crashed to the ground!
But she was blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
blinded by the light (Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night (In the dumps with the mumps) blinded by the light (As the adolescent pumps his way into his hat) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
blinded by the light (I tripped the merry-go-round) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night (With this very unpleasin’, sneezin’ and wheezin’) blinded by the light (The calliope crashed to the ground) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
blinded by the light (And throws his lover in the sand) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night (And some bloodshot, forget-me-not said daddy’s within earshot) blinded by the light (Save the buckshot, turn up the band) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
blinded by the light (Told me I got what it takes) revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night (She said, “I’ll turn you on, son, into something strong”)
She got down but she never got tired She’s gonna make it through the night
Today I went with my Auntie to the Sisters of Grace Christmas party and it was so nice. A gal named Nonie made place mats and jewelry for all the attendees. There was lots of good food and what touched a bunch of us was the music. What brings me near to tears is hearing the ladies sing. I imagine that heaven must be like that – a bunch of friends and loved ones singing together. I can’t remember the name of the song but a gal did sign language of it and that was beautiful too. There was a couple there that played music with bells that was lovely.

Psalm 96:1-3New International Version
Psalm 96
1 Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
Hello to you. I am posting a little late. I didn’t get to church this morning as I had trouble sleeping last night. I’m still working on sleeping and being awake. The medication I take before bed is suppose to help me sleep but so far it’s not really doing that! I try to go to bed around 9 pm and am still awake at 2 or 3 am!
Todays prompt is a timely one. I don’t get energy just from food. I get energy from positive people, places and things like music. I suppose you could say it’s a bit of being an energy vampire and an empath. I have been this way much of my life. I think we all are energy vampires- energy beings – in one way or another. We all survive consuming energy be it ambient or solid to live. It’s important to know boundaries and consent. I have been fed on before to the point I near fainted before. The woman that was feeding on me didn’t realize what she was doing and neither did I! I just knew I had to get away from her! I remember breaking out in s sweat and feeling weak.
2 Timothy 1:7New International Version
7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline
Hello to you. How are you today? Here we are at Saturday again. I’m sitting out on the front porch with Link – it’s nice and cool out even though it’s 2 pm. Fall is definitely on its way!
Romans 2:11 International Version
11 For God does not show favoritism.
I don’t have an all time favorite album. I have favorite songs from a bunch of my favorite bands. One of my all time favorite singers is David Bowie and all time favorite bands is Depeche Mode. A newer favorite is Blue October. Ever since we’ve had the ability to get access to individual songs, I’ve gotten away from favorite complete works.
