What’s a song lyric that has stuck with you forever?

Hello to you. My prayers go out to the people of Spokane Washington and all the other parts of the world that are burning. I am convinced that what they have been spraying all over in the sky has made the trees and grass more flammable. Just a theory!

The song lyric that has stuck with me much of my life is from a song called Blinded By The Light by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band. Every time I hear it I am immediately transported to my childhood home. I am in the basement wearing my wrist radio listening to this song:

Hello to you. I hope this finds you well. Tonight I got to watch via NYCTHRASHERs Tik Tok page a South Korean boy band named BTS. I was one of some 50,000 people watching the performance which is a lot for Tik Tok! The MetLife Stadium in New Jersey had about 82,500 people in attendance. – sold out show. I had never really heard of the band before them being mentioned on Tik Tok. Here is what the internet has to say about them:

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) is a famous seven-member South Korean boy band formed in 2010 that debuted on June 12, 2013 under BIGHIT MUSIC. The group consists of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Hello to you. Today has been a good day. The morning began with church. I had never really read John 17 before. It was a great prayer from Jesus for his followers then and his followers now. I got to sit next to my friend Jeannie. She brought me something special – colored pencils! She likes my drawings and wanted to encourage me. I did a little drawing – I’m so out of practice!

Which outdated technology do you miss the most, and why?

Hello to you. How are you? With everything that is going on around the globe – fires, heat waves, floods, disease outbreaks, and earthquakes we need to be praying for eachother now more than ever!

Today’s prompt evoked almost an immediate response. I kinda miss hardwired phones. When you wanted to contact someone it was a more conscious thing. You had to remember their phone number or have it in a phone book – written down somewhere. If you didn’t want to be found you just didn’t answer your phone. Now we have smart phones that have made me dumber! The only two numbers I know by heart are mine and my ex husbands! The other thing about hard wired phones is we didn’t have to worry about battery life. Do you miss how we used to communicate?

Is a little chaos actually good for us?

Hello to you. I hope this finds you well and if not, you are in my prayers!

Today’s prompt is thought provoking. When I think of chaos I think of things being completely out of control. Not a good thing. Things can be a bit shook up and we can learn and grow from the resulting outcome but not because of complete chaos. That’s just my opinion.

Here is the internets answer to my question if chaos is a good thing:

Chaos isn’t inherently good or bad; it is a vital catalyst. While unchecked chaos is destructive, controlled or balanced chaos—often called “self-organized criticality” in science—is highly beneficial. It drives creativity, evolution, and personal growth by breaking us out of stagnant patterns and forcing necessary adaptations:

Biology and Science: In living systems, like the human brain, seemingly chaotic electrical patterns indicate health, whereas over-organization can signal disease. Chaos theory also shows that hidden patterns and self-organization exist within random events. [1, 2]

Life and Personal Growth: Embracing uncertainty allows you to break free from old mindsets, sparking profound personal transformation. You can learn to manage the unexpected using practical problem-solving mapping. [1, 2, 3]

Systems and Organizations: While pure anarchy leads to collapse, a complete lack of chaos leads to oppressive rigidity. Balancing the two generates novelty, prevents stagnation, and fosters new solutions.

Hello to you. Hard to believe another Sunday is here and about gone already. Link and I cuddled our way through neighborhood fireworks last night. He just stayed by my side through it all. I always feel bad for the pets, birds and squirrels! Some of the fireworks sounded like gunfire and sounded like they were in the house. We got to bed about 2 am. Things had pretty much stopped by then

Brads message today was a good reminder that prayer to God is more than just a transaction where we ask for things and expect results. Prayer is an act of submission to the will of the father. It can be so disappointing to keep praying and not see God move the way we want him to. I have been praying for healing for so long now and there had been no real answer. If I am going to overcome I have to trust God will move in his time and not mine. I may be this way forever for whatever reason I’m not privy to. God knows!

Hello to you in your here and now. I hope you are well. I was just watching a video on Tik Toc that made me very nostalgic for my teen years that I want to share with you. It was a compilation of 80’s movies:

I am a Generation Xer so a lot of my core memories are from the 80’s. My generation is the last to know what life could be like without smart phones and the internet. My favorite music was also in that time period. I remember seeing the beginning of MTV! One of the first videos I remember seeing:

I grew up without cell phones. I was a latch key kid who relied on a hard wired phone to keep in touch with my parents. I also relied on phone booths when I was away from home. In my early years in the military I worked on computers when they had data cards that had to be processed.

If you didn’t want to be found you had an answering machine to collect your calls. I feel like the Internet has been a blessing and a curse! When I went to my first concert, David Bowie, the crowd didn’t have phones to capture it. Everyone was in the moment. Thats not the case these days:

I am a bit rusty at drawing but gave it a try tonight

Hello to you. As I write to you the moon is beaming brightly outside. I got out my little sketchbook tonight and did the drawing I’m sharing. It’s me imagining Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Metatron healing my ears. The nasal spray and antihistamine that was prescribed isn’t helping me get rid of the problem with my ears. I don’t want to lose hope that there is some way for me to be healed! My body has been through it and now as I age it’s all catching up to me.

Tonight I am saying a special prayer for my cousin and his wife as their 16 year old dachshund Lincoln passed away today. My heart goes out to them!
