2 April 2024 Switch

Hello to you. I’m experiencing a little frustration about my experience with the VA. I just found out I’m losing my counselor in a couple months- same thing happened with my psychiatrist! It keeps happening! They are interns that graduate and move on and then a new doctor switches in. It’s frustrating because I have to keep starting over! The positive thing is may be a new perspective will be helpful – I will just have to see.

2 Corinthians 5:17New International Version

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!

28 March 2024 Being Five

What did I want to be when I was Five – a writer and singer- be famous. I was writing stories when I was five and singing to neighbors with my jump rope handle. I think it was around this time my stepmom said something profound to me “you don’t have to be famous to be somebody.” She was right! She used to read my stories and gave me honest feedback.

Our church had a Passover feast on Tuesday. It’s the second one I’ve been to and it was really good. There was a great attendance – over 90 people. Now we are looking forward to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Luke 22:13-23New International Version

13 They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostlesreclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”

17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it,and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.[a] 21 But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. 22 The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!” 23 They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.

25 March 2024 Saying No

How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Something that has gotten easier as I’ve gotten older is saying no. I used to say yes all the time and would get a resentment as a result. I felt like I had to say yes or I was a bad person. Now I realize that it doesn’t make me a bad person to say no sometimes especially if it’s not in my best interest. Sometimes no is the right answer – a catalyst for something else better to happen. An example is my ex brother in law asked my ex and I to come to Florida to a Ozz fest and I said I didn’t want to go. Well we didn’t go and he ended up meeting his future wife! Spending too much time making a decision means usually the answer is no for now – “too many mind.”

Matthew 5:37New International Version

37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’;anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

22 March 2024 Teacher

Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

The teacher I remember and have fond memories of is a grade school teacher at Harvey Dunn her name was Mrs. Maxwell. She encouraged my writing. She gave me a certificate stating that I was the most likely to be an author. She was right. After we lost Sam our cocker spaniel we wrote a book. The title was The Gospel According to Sam an e-book.

Matthew 12:30-32 Niv

30 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

17 March 2024 Cross Country Trip

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

Today is a beautiful day. The skies have been full of geese and that has been amazing! Like watching angels fill the sky.

It’s a toss up between taking an airplane or a car to make a cross country trip. The last trip I made was via pick up truck with my cousins wife. We drove from Texas to Idaho and it was a long trip. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 4 years! We drove right through Covid and when it was a scary time to travel. I am so grateful to have been traveling with such experienced travelers. It’s been several years since I’ve been on an airplane – can’t even remember what year it was!

Luke 9 :: NIV. and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He told them: “Take nothing for the journey–no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town.

12 March 2024 Superstitious

Are you superstitious?

I don’t think I’ve ever been superstitious. Like having a lucky item or piece of clothing. I kind of had a thing about Friday the 13th for a time until my birthday was on that date and other people I know and love had it too. It wasn’t something to fear but something to celebrate.

Matthew 17:20New International Version

20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.Nothing will be impossible for you.”

11 March 2024 Animal

Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

The animal I would compare myself to is a bird of prey. They are always watching for an opportunity for a meal from the outside. They live much of their lives as observers and feared and misunderstood by other animals. I can relate to their behavior.

Isaiah 11:6-9New International Version

The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling[a]together;
and a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea

6 March 2024 Question

What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

I don’t really have a question I hate to be asked. I am really an open book about most things. Almost to a fault I am open about myself.

Matthew 28:19-20New International Version

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with youalways, to the very end of the age.”

22 Feb 2024 Boredom

What bores you?

I would have to say nothing really bores me right now. I am in a in between time in my life and gradually my days are beginning to fill up with interesting moments. Being medically retired at such an early age I am learning from my Aunts age group about retirement (70’s).

He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age” (Ruth 4:15 NIV).

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you” (Isaiah 46:4 NIV).

28 Dec 2023 Political Views

How have your political views changed over time?

I have been a Democrat for quite some time but would like to change to an Independent because I don’t like either Republicans or Democrats! I use to be in alignment with Democrats but not any more. I haven’t been following politics much at all these days because I’m just disgusted with it all.

Matthew 22:15-22New International Version

Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar

15 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians.“Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax[a] to Caesar or not?”

18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me?19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.”They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”

21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.

Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.
