16 August 2023 Word Usage

What is a word you feel that too many people use?

Hello to you! Yesterday Uncle John came and changed out my three fire alarm batteries so no more worries about that for a couple years! I should of asked him to let me clean my windows that are out of my reach but I forgot. We just got it done quickly because Link was so scared he pooped in the house again. He has seriously loose bowels and I think has doggy PTSD. He and Spot endured a lot during my episodes in Texas.

What word I feel is used too often by myself and others is the F word quite honestly. It’s just one of those words that is so easy to fall back on. It’s so common to hear it on television and other programs and that never was the case in times past. This video cracks me up every time I hear it:

Matthew 7:12New International Version

12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

5 August 2023 Curiosity

What are you curious about?

Hello to you. How are you? I’m feeling pretty good – got some sleep last night and there were even dreams I don’t remember. Yesterday I got two walks in – forced myself to go. It’s so easy to say I’ll do it later! With the medication I’m on it’s easy to put weight on and almost impossible to take it off. Next Monday I will be doing a chair yoga class through the VA. Hopefully the start of a positive new habit! Just got to keep moving!

Every time I see a sunflower I think of my ex. We were walking and at a stop sign there was a sun flower and he noticed it. “Stop and See” pay attention to the beauty around you. I stopped on my walk last night to see these beauties.

What am I curious about? A little bit of everything! I enjoy seeing what science gets up to. Lately in the headlines there has been a lot of discussion around a claim coming out of South Korea in regards to super conductors: Superconductivity is a set of physical properties observed in certain materials where electrical resistance vanishes and magnetic flux fields are expelled from the material. Any material exhibiting these properties is a superconductor. Wikipedia Watching a piece of metal hover and move like a UFO is really intriguing. There were several headlines about this the past couple of days which leads me to believe it’s connected to what we are hearing about reversed engineering in extraterrestrial technology. The timing of this release doesn’t seem coincidental to me. I feel like we are being prepared for a bigger story and are being fed bite size portions like infants. You have to be paying attention. If this technology is valid and peer reviewed we could see flying cars and other changes to the power grid very soon. I think the work Of Nikola Tesla is finally getting proven – about free energy being everywhere – ambient energy is a tangible thing – just how to harness it without adverse consequences in the quantities we need it in.

https://amp.kedglobal.com/newsAmp/ked202308040021 – Korea’s new superconductor will be verified: Research team Jin-Won Kim Aug 04, 2023 (Gmt+09:00)

STATE-OF-ART MATERIAL (excerpt go to link for full article)

A superconductor can levitate in a magnetic field and conduct electricity with zero resistance, thus having no loss of energy – a conventional conductor gets hot because it has resistance and generates heat.

It is touted as a state-of-art material that can speed up connections between computer chips, strengthen the electromagnetic field for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and provide higher efficiency to power grids and maglev railways. However, the cryogenic environment has been a major obstacle to commercializing the material.

It was in 1911 when the world’s first superconductivity was discovered by Dutch researcher and Nobel laureate Heike Kamerlingh-Onnes at 4.2 Kelvin, which is -452.1 Fahrenheit or -269 degrees Celsius. Today, a high-temperature superconductor is discovered above 77 Kelvin, -321.1 Fahrenheit or -196.2 degrees Celsius.

There have been many trials to prove room-temperature superconductors. In 2020, a research team led by Ranga Dias, assistant professor of the mechanical engineering department at University of Rochester, claimed they had found superconductivity at 287 Kelvin, 56.9 Fahrenheit or 13.9 degrees Celsius. But the team’s paper was retracted by the prominent magazine Nature in 2022 due to low confidence in the scientific results.

I think science is interesting but I believe it’s a bottom line quest to explain our existence. Science is like a religion – a quest for God – to be God. I could be wrong but that’s how it’s always seemed to me. The quest for the Why of every tiny detail of existence. I was watching some videos about the CERN Haldron Collider last night and it’s pretty scary what they are doing! https://youtu.be/6IH012umOjQ – CERN Scientists Claim They Have Opened a Portal to Another Dimension. In the absence of a tangible God, science through numbers and equations seeks to explain what just generates more questions and it seems like a competition to see who’s smarter! I wonder if the field of science is almost just a way for smart people not to be bored. If you look at nature there are so many answers to the Why and What of God! Just this spring and all the flowers filled me with wonder and joy. It’s seems that is too simple for a scientist. They need microscope’s and Petri dishes, charts and grafts, tiny particles and multiverses!

When I was having some of my episodes every question had more than one answer – it was exhausting! I would sit in my closet going round and round for hours. I imagine if I had been in a lab such an occurrence would be exhilarating but it wasn’t. If you have ever seen the Dr. Who episode with the Editor – it was like being one of those people receiving all the information through my third eye (the space between the eyebrows) I was thinking so much that area hurt! Only God, the energy that is at the center of all creation, knows how all the pieces fit together. It’s too much for any one person to know!

So anyways I am curious about a lot of things. It will be interesting to see if this discovery out of South Korea pans out. We really could benefit as a world – much more quickly.

I’m also curious about passages like this in the Bible. When I read it it makes me wonder what exactly they were seeing. It makes me think of people trying to describe UFO/UAP encounters! Sometimes there aren’t words from our times to explain things. Think about what it must have been like for our earliest ancestors when they witnessed lightening and thunder:

Ezekiel 1:5-11New International Version

and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was human,but each of them had four faces and four wings. Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze. Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. All four of them had faces and wings, and the wings of one touched the wings of another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.

10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle. 11 Such were their faces. They each had two wings spreading out upward, each wing touching that of the creature on either side; and each had two other wings covering its body.

3 August 2023 Prayer Team

Hello to you – how are you? I’m just back from meeting with our church’s prayer team. I asked the members to pray for me. I am having problems with my new medication which causes anxiety. I tried to get in touch with my doctors nurse yesterday but was unsuccessful! I was able to get an appointment scheduled earlier which is good.

I’m grateful for our prayer team. Going each Thursday gives me a purpose. I walk there and walk home. Going gives me a reason to pray and connect with Jesus with other followers. There is such a beautiful fellowship. We are up to four members now! Today we had a lot to pray for to include several people that have been missing due to health related issues. Our group leader has a call list and checks on many of the people. Today was our youngest members Briana’s 29th birthday!

1 John 1:7New International Version

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[a]sin.

27 July 2023 Someone Cares

Hi there! How is your week going this far? I’m just back from the Thursday prayer meeting – so glad I went. I got to meet a new person and as a group we talked about something we all had in common – a family member committing suicide and mental health. The pain of the loss be it fresh or a few years down the road never really goes away. Time numbs the wounds, faith restores hope. Some day we will see each other again! Mental Health is so hard to understand. It’s not like a broken bone or a one time problem you can just snap your fingers and fix. Suicide attempts are not just attention seeking but a legitimate cry for help.

Along these lines it comes to me to put it out in the cosmos that no matter what life may seem to be someone cares. For example, in a little gathering of four people just today, strangers to you, lifted you up in prayer. Someone cares about you no matter how it may seem. You are not alone! God has shown me this through my family both blood and not.

Exodus 33:14

14 The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Psalm 139:7

7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

Matthew 26:41New International Version

41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

*RIP Sinead O’Connor – they haven’t said how she died but I have my suspicions from her history. I hope she has found peace.

26 July 2023 No Travel Plans

What are your future travel plans?

Hello to you today. How are you? I woke up really early this morning with anxiety. It’s probably because I know my Aunt is having her shoulder surgery today. I am hoping everything goes well. I suggested to her to ask the doctor and nurses to pray with her beforehand – sometimes they do that.

Todays prompt makes me think of the good old days when I used to travel when I was in the military stationed overseas. We used the base MWR (Morale Welfare Recreation) services and got to see and do a lot that way. They chartered buses and that’s how we got around much of Europe – and trains. We weren’t saddled down with pets yet. When we were overseas the only pet we had was a cockatiel named Cheeky. She didn’t need to be boarded. Once we got back to the states I got May and Amber my cats and that put a damper on travel. We still did it but not for great lengths of time. Having cats and dogs and boarding them costs about as much as the trip without them! It’s expensive to travel having pets – there are extra fees to hotel rooms. Just traveling from Texas to Idaho with Link wasn’t cheap.

Visitor in the neighbors tree

Someday when I don’t have a pet, which I don’t know if that will be ever, (lol) I wouldn’t mind taking another cruise to Europe and seeing parts I didn’t see when I was over there like Ireland and may be Norway and Scotland. May be I’ll have a traveling buddy by then?! It would be nice to share an experience like that.

This psalm is beautiful for all kinds of travel – thinking of my Aunt:

Psalm 121New International Version

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

25 July 2023 Modern Society

What would you change about modern society?

Hello to you. Hope this finds you well. Yesterday was really nice. My cousin came over and whisked me away from my house for bit. We had lunch at Subway and got a short walk in. It really meant a lot to me,

Todays prompt is a lot for just a few words in a question. I have lived 55 years and seen and experienced the evolution to the society we are living in. I have been part of it! I can remember computers being much more primitive and there not being cell phones. It’s pretty amazing that I am using a hand held device to do this blog. interactions with family and friends are different. Take yesterday for example. My cousin and I didn’t take any pictures we were just in the moment of being together. We used her phone to look into stationary bikes but that was it. I used to take pictures of everything – selfie Queen lol and now it’s mostly just special occasions.

Program from when I saw David

I think if I could change one thing about modern society it would be encouraging people to be in the moment and capture those moments with their eyes not just their phones. Be present fully in life. I have seen on Tik Tok Taylor Swift concerts and it’s just a sea of phone lights each recording the concert. When I saw David Bowie back in the 1990’s there were just writhing bodies with their eyes peeled on David! Even as long ago as that was I remember it like it was today.

This is for my Auntie who is having shoulder surgery tomorrow:

Matthew 6:34New International Version

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

22 July 2023 Game

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

Hello there! How are you? Todays prompt is s tough one as I don’t have one specific favorite game. I have played a couple video games that kept my attention for long periods of time like FFXI, Diablo 2, FFXIV, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, The Sims and Rift. Mostly MMORPGs. As far as board game favorites I would have to say Scrabble and Monopoly.

The reason I have enjoyed video games like I mentioned is it’s fun to be a powerful character in an alternate universe. It was a way to socialize with people all over the world. It was a way for me to not feel lonely and have something to do.

One of my favorite avatars was Prinzessa. She got to be a high level Paladin player and I really invested a lot of time into her. She had a story! People on the server knew me. It was through her that I met and later married my second husband. I was in a party in a place called Valkrum Dunes and he got invited to the party and things went from there. I was a white mage ( healer) and he was a black mage ( damage dealer). I can remember us crying when we deleted Prinzessa and Efess – can’t remember exactly why we did that but just remember it being an emotional thing for both of us. It was like a part of us died! In FFXI it was a challenge to get everything you got and so you really got invested emotionally in your characters (avatars) unlike World of Warcraft where we were always making new characters.

Since moving to Idaho I haven’t really played any video games – played a little Rift which is a game like World of Warcraft. I just can’t sit and focus for extended periods of time like I used to.

Ephesians 5:15-17English Standard Version

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

21 July 2023 Quality vs Quantity

Hello to you. How’s your week been? It’s Friday morning as I write to you and already hot – 89 degrees! I went and got groceries at Ridleys here in town after I got up. Their ice cream section was completely empty! Their freezer must be still broken. I didn’t need to buy ice cream anyways lol! Just tastes good when it’s hot.

Today my thoughts turn to life in terms of quality versus quantity – the number of days we live versus how we live the number of days we are given to live. I feel so blessed to have made it to 55 years old! It hasn’t always been easy to get to this point but despite all the things I’ve been through I’m grateful for my life and the bumps in the road along the way. It’s like my body with its knicks and dents – all the imperfections showing the character of the life I’ve lived. Each flaw and scar tells a story about me and my journey. It’s important to live in a space of gratitude for the time we are given however long or short that time may be.

Our animals that we share our life with teach us these lessons. For every day we live is a week in their time. No day is wasted. I can be gone for just a few minutes and when I come back Link expresses his joy and gratitude at my return. Each morning there is a wagging tail to show how glad he is to wake up next to me. Dogs, cats and birds are the epitome of making each day count!

Romans 8:18New International Version

Present Suffering and Future Glory

18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

20 July 2023 Dogs or Cats

Dogs or cats?

Hello to you. It’s a smoky hot day already. I walked over to our prayer meeting at Grace House and back – got my 10 minutes plus in for today. I’ll probably still go later this evening. I spoke with a recreation therapist yesterday from the VA and we established a goal of walking at least 10 minutes each day.

As for todays prompt I have had the honor of sharing my life with both species. I would say of the two, cats are the lowest maintenance but I love each equally. There are pros and cons to sharing life with each of them. Dogs can’t be left alone for more than a day whereas cats can. I don’t miss cleaning up cat litter but I still have to pick up dog poop! It’s more convenient to just scoop it out of one place. Both species can be very affectionate and love to play. May, my Russian Blue, loved to play ball with me. I would toss a small fuzz ball to her and she would hit it with her paws like a bat. So cute! Link loves to cuddle and sometimes we play with his toys. He hides his favorite fur babies and challenges me to find them. Sometimes he acts like a Dat – a little bit dog and a little bit cat. Amber and May were his first cat family. So as you can see, I can’t settle on whether I favor dogs or cats- they are pretty much even in my books!

New flower I saw on the walk last night
These flowers make me think of an exotic location like Hawaii or something

Proverbs 3:3-13New International Version

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
    bind them around your neck,
    write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
    in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.[a]

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
    and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth,
    with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
    and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
    and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
    as a father the son he delights in.[b]

13 Blessed are those who find wisdom,
those who gain understanding,

19 July 2023 Time

Which activities make you lose track of time?

Hello to you. How is your week thus far! My week is going ok. I’m sitting on the front porch with Link as I write to you. Its still pretty nice out. I wish it would rain so my car would get rinsed off! Its pretty dirty! I know as soon as I wash it pollen and dust will cover it again.

Todays prompt makes me think of when I was being creative and crafting. When I made jewelry, did drawing in chalks on the back porch and also when I used to be play video games. When I get in the flow, the zone where I’m focused on something so completely I am not operating in time and a place. When I’m doing something I love to do it’s such a good feeling. It’s been a couple years since I had this feeling. I can remember when I used to draw portraits of people I would sit for hours and be totally focused but that was mainly when I was younger.

Psalm 145:9New International Version

9 The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
