7 October 2023 Topic Change

What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

The topic or issue I’ve had the most change about in the past couple of years is spirituality. I have more of a Christ consciousness than I did before. In the past it was simply just God I believed in not so much Jesus. Now after time and experiences the focus has narrowed down to Jesus. I can remember a couple scary lucid dreams I had and the one name I was barely able to say got me free was saying the name Jesus. I have always believed in God but for the longest not just Jesus. I have only just recently declared my belief. Once you say yes to Jesus, you can’t really say no!

I just want to give thanks for my family and friends today. I had something scary happen yesterday and they helped me get through it. I am so blessed to have such a support system!

Psalm 142:7New International Version

7 Set me free from my prison,
that I may praise your name.
Then the righteous will gather about me
because of your goodness to me.

25 September 2023 Advice

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Hello to you. Hope this finds you doing well. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve been given through the years is never price your own stuff. When I was considering selling my own work I was practically giving it away for free. Kind of a case of not knowing my worth. When it comes to creativity, all the glory goes to God. I don’t like charging money for my creations. Anytime money has been involved in my making stuff, it’s not gone well. The best way I like to do things for someone wanting me to make something for them is them providing the materials and I then make the item. I did that for a couple paintings I did for my therapist. She gave me money to buy paint and canvas and I did a couple paintings for her office.

Paintings I did a few years ago

Genesis 1:28New International Version

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earthand subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

24 September 2023 Energy

What things give you energy?

Hello to you. I am posting a little late. I didn’t get to church this morning as I had trouble sleeping last night. I’m still working on sleeping and being awake. The medication I take before bed is suppose to help me sleep but so far it’s not really doing that! I try to go to bed around 9 pm and am still awake at 2 or 3 am!

Todays prompt is a timely one. I don’t get energy just from food. I get energy from positive people, places and things like music. I suppose you could say it’s a bit of being an energy vampire and an empath. I have been this way much of my life. I think we all are energy vampires- energy beings – in one way or another. We all survive consuming energy be it ambient or solid to live. It’s important to know boundaries and consent. I have been fed on before to the point I near fainted before. The woman that was feeding on me didn’t realize what she was doing and neither did I! I just knew I had to get away from her! I remember breaking out in s sweat and feeling weak.

2 Timothy 1:7New International Version

7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline

22 September 2023 Topics

Which topics would you like to be more informed about?

Hello to you. How is your Friday? It’s nice and cool here this morning. Can definitely feel that fall is on the way! It’s happening fast like the rest of the year had gone. Today is my second day of Evolve 2.0 – a supplement I’m trying to burn body fat. I’ll keep you posted on how it’s working.

Todays prompt is pretty easy. I am always curious about learning more about spirituality and science. Most would say how can you be interested in both of those without one cancelling the other. The truth is the more I learn about science the more my faith is validated! There are things science can’t easily explain and will probably never explain and into this void is a space filled by faith and spirituality.

My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration.” This quote also resonates with those of us that consider ourselves spiritual seekers today. Tesla indicates that he believed in some kind of source energy that we can all tap into.

Hebrews 11:1-3New International Version

Faith in Action

11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope forand assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.

3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

21 September 2023 Life Without Music

What would your life be like without music?

Hello to you. I hope this finds you well. Today I got my latest supplements I’m trying to help me lose weight – Evolve. We shall see what happens.

My life without music would be intolerable. I can’t even imagine a world without music! Music is a big part of how I remember so much. It’s either in the background or in the forefront of what’s going on in my life. Music is an integral part of the multi sensory aspect of memories for me. When I recall certain memories and have trouble all I need to do is pick a song and that helps me.

There is an organization called Music and Memory that really shows how powerful music is to waking up people that have “gone to sleep” in their bodies.

Psalm 96:1-3New International Version

Psalm 96

1 Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

19 September 2023 Baking Fail

Write about your most epic baking or cooking fail.

I would have to say my worst baking fail is chocolate chip cookies. When you live in a different climate, altitude, access to different quality ingredients, different stove- it all affects the outcome of what your making. By the time I left Texas, I pretty much had everything down and the cookies were consistently good. I had my fans – my Dad and my exes brother in particular ! When they came to visit they would make a beeline towards the container I used to keep them in! I haven’t baked really since I got here. Just too many calories for one person.

Exodus 16:23New International Version

23 He said to them, “This is what the Lord-commande: ‘Tomorrow is to be a day of sabbath rest, a holy sabbath to the Lord. So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.’”

18 September 2023 Early Lesson

Share a lesson you wish you had learned earlier in life.

The lesson I wish I had learned earlier in life is my value or worth. I don’t think I’ve ever really learned that lesson. To this day I still don’t really have this down. The book by Amy Tan Joy Luck Club talks about this concept. It’s a sort of muti-general trauma that gets passed on from one generation to the next. Not realizing our value or what we have until it’s compromised or gone.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20New International Version

19 Do you not know that your bodies are templesof the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

16 September 2023 Walking or Running (How Often)

How often do you walk or run?

Hello to you. How are you? Todays prompt brings me back to when I used to run track and cross country in High School and the Air Force. I wasn’t the fastest runner but I was steady. I ran slow at first and then sped up towards the end of the races. My knees got bad so now I just walk and that’s a struggle for me because of chronic lower back pain I have now. I go for walks each day in the evening and have to stop about half way because of the pain. Getting old sucks but I refuse to let it keep me down.

This was one of my favorite scenes in The Chosen- Jesus heals the Leper The Chosen https://youtu.be/VL8DThllZAY?si=X5DXm1AdXxS3ZXoQ

Matthew 8:1-4New International Version

8 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before himand said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy

3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

15 September 2023 Leader

Do you see yourself as a leader?

I don’t think of myself as a leader but I’m not a very good follower either – somewhere in between. When I was in the military I questioned authority quite a bit! It was hard having so many bosses. I had my direct supervisor who had a supervisor which was also my supervisor all the way up to the President of the United States.! There was a lot of inconsistency along the way.

My sunshine boy

Colossians 3:12-13New International Version

12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

14 September 2023 Favorite Word

What’s your favorite word?

Hi there. I’m just back from our Thursday prayer meeting and getting groceries. I’m grateful for the gathering today and the prayers for my health by the folks gathered there. Which leads me to one of my top favorite words gratitude. Adopting an attitude of gratitude in any season of life can really make it easier to get through. It’s focusing not on what’s on wrong but what’s right. There have been times lately with the stuff I’m going through that I have wanted to give up. Getting into a gratitude attitude has pushed me through those times.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” (Psalm 100:4)
