Hello to you. I’m writing to you as I sit outside today. It feels nice! It’s 94 degrees but you can’t tell sitting on the shaded porch. I haven’t sat outside in awhile. It’s Saturday and the neighborhood is quiet except for a dog barking nonstop inside their home. They resealed our road so the tar is hot and black in the full sunshine. I can smell and feel it from my porch.
View from my porch
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. psalm 96:10-13
I have a couple kinds of favorite weather. One is sunny cold weather that nips your cheeks and the other is seventy degree weather with blue skies and the air is soft.
Isaiah 1:18New International Version
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
The animal I would compare myself to is a bird of prey. They are always watching for an opportunity for a meal from the outside. They live much of their lives as observers and feared and misunderstood by other animals. I can relate to their behavior.
Isaiah 11:6-9New International Version
6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling[a]together; and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea
Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?
A positive example of when I felt loved is when my cousin and his wife came and got me and took me to Idaho from Texas. It was during Covid and they didn’t hesitate to come anyways. It’s been going on 4 years since that happened. So many people were praying for me! I haven’t had someone do that for me before. There have been many other examples of how my family has shown their love for me since then but that was one of the greatest.
As I write to you we are getting more snow – I’m having trouble keeping up with it! I feel so week trying to shovel. I rescheduled my appts to next week in hopes the snow will let up and the roads will be better. It’s crazy out there!
1 Corinthians 13New International Version
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faiththat can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poorand give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Links paths in the snow this morning trying to find a spot to do his business
This morning we woke up to snow that fell over night. We got quite a bit! I’ll probably need to go out and shovel it in a bit as I don’t think it will melt on its own.
Psalm 51:7New International Version
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Just a couple days ago our family dog Spot, a rat terrier, passed away. She was about 14 years of age. Last night she came to me in a dream along with another dog I didn’t recognize. I was hoping she would visit me this way. She used to come to me in dreams while she was alive. Dreams make it possible for us to visit no matter what the living condition – dead or alive. I miss her and loved her so much. She was a great dog.

46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostratebefore Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him. 47 The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.”
My feelings about eating meat is guilt most times. I know that most meat animals in commercial farms suffer horrible living conditions. I eat meat with gratitude for the lives given so that I might live.
9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
I have lived near and visited mountains and they are so beautiful. My memories of living in Colorado Springs and going hiking and fishing on lakes on Pikes Peak are some of my fondest memories. I can remember falling asleep there too. One time I woke up to a hummingbird flittering around a red hat I was wearing. I liked the sound of Aspen tree leaves blowing in the wind. When we were in Europe there were mountains too – in Austria in particular. Gorgeous! Where I live now there are mountains – they look pretty when it snows.
Psalms 121:1-8 NIV
I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Hello to you. I hope this finds you well in spite of all the stuff going on in this world. I am trying to remain calm and relaxed. I know the more anxious I feel the more I need to pray and lean into my faith. Its just hard to do sometimes. The natural inclination when going through rough times is to be anxious and worry. That, unfortunately, shows a lack of faith. I have to trust Jesus has the wheel of what I’m facing. I am grateful for all my family and friends that are praying for me right now.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw todays prompt was snorkeling or scuba diving. I’ve never done either of these things. There is so much to discover in the underwater realms. I have only ever been a land dweller! I lived in Florida for a couple of years but never did anything but swim in the ocean and do some fishing. I got to see dolphins off in the distance from where I was swimming. I can remember fishing at the shore and a dolphin coming right next to me! I love dolphins! They are such miracles!
Isaiah 43:19New International Version
19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Hello to you. How are you? I am doing ok considering what’s going on in my life right now. I can’t really talk about it but let’s just say it’s life changing. I am leaning on my faith, family and friends right now. Yesterday my cousin came and whisked me off on an little adventure. We had Dickeys BBQ and went for a walk.
The big thing have been putting off is end of life planning. I know at some point I’m going to die and I will have property, finances and stuff that will be left behind to deal with. I have a will but it’s old so I need to get everything up to date. So I need to deal with it and hopefully I can do it through the VA so it won’t cost me anything. Ideally I just want to leave everything to my brothers daughter but need to get everything in writing and official.
Yesterday my beautiful cousin Laura came and whisked me off on an adventure. This is one of the sights we saw on a walk together.
Jeremiah 29:11New International Version
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
