21 July 2018 Mary and the Witch’s Flower (animated film), chalk drawings, lovely before dark and painting progress

Hello to you in your where, when, here and now as you stop by.  How are you?  I hope you are well in mind, body and spirit and if your not that you are on your way to attaining healing and peace in whatever areas ail you.  I’ve been kind of grumpy lately about things that I have little to no control over.  I’m working on it.  Got a sweet letter from my Mom yesterday and that helps turn a frown upside down!  She mentioned having read some of my blogs and that meant a lot to me.  She is always so busy with living and loving life – activities that usually involve helping others and aren’t on the computer.  For her to take the time for me like that is a pretty big deal to me!

So Kyle and I did that thing we do a lot living so closely connected to each other.  I had gone out and did a drawing with what I perceived as a powerful flower as the focus.  Later in the evening Kyle chose, at random, a delightful animated film called Mary and the Witch’s Flower.  It had a very Harry Potter theme.  One of the voices in the version we watched was actually from the Harry Potter verse!  The voice of Dr. Dee was Jim Broadbent (Horace Slughorn from Harry Potter.)  One of my favorite aspects of the film was how beautifully rendered the nature aspects were done.  In a few frames it was hard to tell if I was looking at an actual scene from nature or a painting.   We like animated films a lot.  The one we are anticipating is the sequel to Castlevania in October!

19 July 2018 Hot

Hello to you.  I hope this finds you well in your where and when as you stop by here.  It’s so hot….94 degrees at 11:05 am!  I am so over summer!  I have been noticing this hot thing is pretty much everywhere right now.  This literally feels like a warning or may be the sun is moving closer and no one has told  us yet…(snickers to self.)   Our collective climates are definitely not what they used to be even in the EPA decided to remove the phrase climate change from their web pages: http://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/371190-records-show-epa-chiefs-role-in-removing-climate-web-pagesRecords show EPA chief’s role in removing climate web pages

My dreams have been interesting lately.  I can tell they have been heavily influenced by what I’ve been reading and watching.  We found an interesting You Tube channel called Perfect Life.  The specialty of the channel is rarely seen vintage photos.  The ones we looked at yesterday were from Woodstock and some of the communes that sprung up during the 60’s.  Many of the men had long hair and really bushy beards.

33 RARE PHOTOS OF AMERICA’S HIPPIE COMMUNES FROM THE 1970S    – this has “mature content” so you’ll have to watch it on You Tube.

So naturally last night I was with a man who looked like a “hippie Jesus.”  He and I were wearing one of the necklaces I had made.  We were joking around and I said the penalty for losing my necklace should be going to jail that way I’d be sure not to lose it.  He was so kind and fun to be around.  Then he was standing in front of a group of people like he was going to lead a prayer service and started to say, “In the name of Satan….just kidding…in the name of the God of your understanding.”  Then I woke up.

Anyhew….not much else from here.  I’m sending positive vibes your way!

15 July 2018 Getting Started (Painting)

Hello to you.  It’s Sunday morning and looks and feels like it’s going to be another scorcher for us.  Last night I put some water on the yard and you can hardly notice.  Aw well.  I know we aren’t alone with this hot summer.

Lots of weird dreams last night and the feeling I get quite often that someone besides the dogs, Kyle and I are in our room.  It was really strong last night.  My heart kind of startled after the lights were out and it sounded like someone walking in front of our floor fan.  There was also the non-tinnitis high pitch noise too I hear sometimes.  It sounds like someone screaming at a pitch too high for human ears.  You know the high pitched noise your t.v. makes sometimes or the sound of a light bulb warming up?  That sound.  It could just be the electronics but I don’t hear it all the time so not sure.  Neither of us slept very well last night.

On a silly note, I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of a song by Exile.  I used to sing to the neighbor girls using a jump rope as a microphone:

Exile – Kiss You All Over (original 1978)

Talk about a walk down memory lane!

This morning Kyle and I got started on our paintings together!  Just the first coats of Naples Yellow for him and Grape Taffy Purple for me.  He seems to have more of an idea of what he’s going to do next than I do lol.  Part of me wants to go primal and just put colored palm prints all over mine!  Honestly,  I’m thinking about doing the woman in the octagon.  It is such an intimidating thing this painting and canvas bit!  It’s so different than just sketching on a notepad or scratch piece of paper.  I am just excited we are finally doing something like this together – going to stay in that part of it and not worry about the rest!

Time to head out and get some chalk time in before it’s too hot.  Lots of love and hugs to you today!  Try something new that brings you joy today!

14 July 2018 Seeing Without Eyes

Hello there.  How are you doing?  It’s Saturday night and now that the sun is dimming, it’s finally cooler.  It was a scorcher again today!  I slept a lot today to try and shake this fatigue I’ve been feeling.

A message came to me as I was trying to drift off, “You don’t have to have eyes to see.  There is vision in feeling…the clouds use the winds to see as well as feel.”   Those who have lost their vision can be physically blind or spiritually bankrupt.  It’s so easy in this world to be tempted to give our souls away to people, places and things that don’t deserve them!

Something I’ve had to learn and relearn over and overdon’t give your personal power away!

What came to mind with this message about vision is what often happens when I go outside with my head phones on, close my eyes and move my hands through the air around me.  Sometimes I will go out and it’s completely still, no air moving at all.  Then I’ll do that simple ritual I do and a breeze will start to flow through the trees and around me.  It feels like nature responding to my touch almost!  It’s a beautiful experience!  I often imagine I’m flying when this happens.  I’ll open my eyes and look up in the sky and all sorts of birdies will be soaring around above me.

In all honesty, I’m thinking they are enjoying a nice meal I’ve stirred up for them with my moving around!  It’s magical to watch anyway!

I’ve shared this here before, I just love this scene, I love this movie.  This scene shows what it’s like for me sometimes when I’m outside, there is music in the winds.  When we just allow ourselves to connect with the child within the world becomes a place where anything is possible:

11 July 2018 Picture like a painting

Kyle and I have been talking about pulling out a couple of blank canvas’s and painting together this weekend.  I’m excited to see what he comes up with!  Sometimes I am intimidated about adding color to my drawings and sketches.  I’ve screwed so many of them up doing that lool.  Anymore when I’m in the midst of “arting” I just say quietly, “God, guide my hands” and hope for the best!

1 July 2018 Be A Bridge (Chalk drawing, dream)

Hello.  How are you doing in this moment you visit here?  I hope you are well.  My heart is a bit heavy and conflicted.  It’s confusing emotionally to read news of about a murder suicide of a family of 5 in Price Delaware, the death toll from the flood in Western Japan rising, a newborn being killed in a tornado, tariff wars tempered with 6 year old twins saving a drowning child, interesting progress in space exploration, China offering to fund restoration of the Middle East….such a tenuous balance all of “this.”

My drawing from yesterday and the dream I had this morning kind of ties in nicely to this balance, this race we are running together….this bridge we are building.

10 July 2018 – I drew this without a message and then we got some piddly rain that came through (rain just enough to blurr the drawings I did ) so I went back and touched it up.

The dream this morning was of being at a running race that was taking place on a very high bridge like the one in this drawing.  The little yellow shapes on the bridge in my drawing are people.  So I’m initially below the bridge watching the people running and then I try to figure out how they got up on the bridge to run the race.  I take a closer look and see they are using trampolines to jump up to the top of the bridge to finish the race.  Then, like happens in dreams, fast forward and I’m on top of the bridge with other people like we are waiting for the others.  Then we transition to watching a version of the very same race in a very primitive video game form.

When I talked out this dream with Kyle we think it was like dream central saying, “Yeah, you guys are about 6 consoles away from getting your shit together.”   Funny Universe, very funny!

We are innovative.  We have a lot of ambition, ingenuity and creativity as a species.  What we haven’t yet mastered, and I’m as guilty as anyone, is team work.   I’ve never been very good at working with others but I try.  My problem is I learned the lesson of self reliance all too well growing up.  I also learned that unless I do it, it’s not going to get done right….yeah…some trust issues.  Too many times I trusted people to do their jobs right and they didn’t.  They let me down.  Turns out that’s too bad because you can’t do everything by yourself!  Sooner or later you are going to have to let other people help.  You are going to have to trust other people to do things with and for you.  They may fuck up but that’s part of the journey and you just have to let that process happen.  Remember….Life is School.  We are all in Earth School.

If we are going to survive as a species, we have got to ditch all those things we are using to exclude people from the team like skin color, physical appearance, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, economic class, profession, disabilities/health conditions.  It’s time to ditch the “labels” we put on people that make them ineligible to join the team of life.  The energy of God put us all here for a purpose otherwise we wouldn’t be here.  God doesn’t make junk!

Sooner or later we are all going to find our way to get to the top of the bridge and I think there has got to be an better way than relying on trampolines and a Nintendo console!

9 July 2018 Spider Wasp and Bird Goes Free (Chalk Drawing)

So after my post and breakfast this morning,  I went out to draw.  I’m drawing this loving and spiritual sort of thing and this little spider comes running up to me.  I of course got out of their way.  Then seconds later I see this little fly looking insect on top of the spider.  I couldn’t understand what was happening.  It happened so fast!  In a manner of seconds, this spider wasp (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider_wasp) disabled the spider, dismantled the spider and ran off with it’s midsection right in front of me!  I felt powerless like I’m sure nature photographers often do when they are witnessing the sometimes brutal realities of nature in motion.  There was really not much I could do about it.  I’ve seen a larger wasp dragging the body of a spider 3-4 times it’s size in front of me before.  It’s so shocking to see!  It almost feels like nature actively trying to toughen me up.  Trying to show me what the circle of life is for most living beings “See, this is reality!”  UGH!!!!  I DON’T LIKE IT!  Says the little girl in me!  TOUGH SHIT says nature!  My Dad is always teasing me that I am “too soft” about these things.  He’s right of course.

The quote from Temple Grandin I shared on my earlier post was very loud in my head watching this scene from National Geographic play out!  I wonder if that’s what it is like for God with us?  Even if help is sent.  Even if everything that can possibly be done is done, the outcome is going to be just the same no matter what?  There must be some sort of plan we just can’t see.  All the “domino’s” must be lined up just so otherwise they all will fall.  That’s why messing with events for time travelers is such a no-no.  There are so many micro-events attached to one event.

May be the overall plan is as simple as making sure the circle of life continues to rotate?!

After watching how quickly the wasp dispatched the spider I have question if nature is all that cruel or is it just more efficient?  Human morality doesn’t weigh in to survival for most living beings in nature.  They can’t afford to stop and decide if they should or shouldn’t dispatch another being if it’s the difference between the life or death of themselves and their young.

6 July 2018 Thank you and Poems

I don’t need many words for what I want to say to the God of my understanding other than “Thank you for the rain!”

A couple of poems from Kyle and my past to share:

Raining Time – Kyle Wygant March 13 2002

Washing away the ground

In a triumphant descent

Littering the sky with muted mutiny

Filling every the very holes

Meant to remain unspoiled

Gushing down the walls of time

Winding, whirling and dodging

Pummeling down on the ledges

Of the newly founded changes

Brought down from on high

To rinse away the tainted soil

While nourishing the newly

Undamaged ground

Untitled – 28 June 2006 by Jackie Schmidt

Before me the road is cleared of trees and any vision of the past

The view out of me is blank and clear

Behind me lies the wreckage twisted and sharp

Painful to touch, painful to feel it brings tears easily to my eyes

Sometimes these new days are so bright I am blinded in my happiness

I find at times I cannot believe what unfolds can be real and true

Can these blessings really be for me in all that I have been?

I spread my arms wide and the rain falls

I lift my head to the heavens and sun shines

I kneel down and the earth trembles

I look around me and the walls fall down

All is layed bare and new; the earth scoured clean the lion roars

From behind the curtain of uncertainty the doors of eternity open

Before me now the shadow passes and light is left in it’s wake

The White Tree shimmers in the dew slipped dawn

There are no leaves just shimmering silver

A new Hope for a new time……..

4 July 2018 Unity

https://translate.google.com/ – handy tool I’ve been using so I can enjoy posts from folks here in their home languages

Hello to you – hope this finds you well today.  It’s a holiday for us here in the states.  We plan to celebrate with family – cook out and visit.  My favorite part of any holiday is sharing good food and catching up with people I haven’t seen in awhile!

Holidays are a time to express a micro version of what the world could be but isn’t quite yet – one big family.  World unity is probably a word to chalk up to the ancient dreams of Utopia but definitely a prize to seek.  It is a vision I’ve always had to see the celebration of all our differences.  The people of this world working as a family.  Each bringing their unique pieces of thread and fabric to construct the world quilt.  For all the ways we are different, there are so many more ways we are just the same.

The spin of the World Prayer wheel gave me this, I think it’s beautiful.  I had to read it through aloud more than once as the language style is not what I’m used to reading or writing:

A faintish journey do I make
As through this frazzled world I wind,
With heavy heart and weary steps,
But with determined mind.

Beseech I for a flicker of
The faith than can a mountain move,
And hold that tenet close to me,
Believing where I cannot prove.

The pow’r that comes when sinking low
To man who grasps for straw or rope,
Will clutch til has he breath no more
For where there’s life, there’s hope.

If my good turn be given to
My fellow man’s deficiency,
I’ll try to share my lowly gifts
Of Faith and Hope and Charity.

http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/news/national/16323497.More_sunshine_ahead_as_roads_melt_and_hosepipe_ban_begins_in_Northern_Ireland/Excerpt – guess North Texas isn’t the only place getting a heat wave right now!  I was curious about this because of my wondering what a hosepipe ban was lol.  Same as here – unless we water on designated days, we can only water with handheld garden hose.  29th June

More sunshine ahead as roads melt and hosepipe ban begins in Northern Ireland

Press Association 2018

Roads melted, train tracks reached 49C (120.2F) and a hosepipe ban came into force as the UK basks in the scorching heatwave.

The first hosepipe ban began in Northern Ireland at 6pm on Friday, with plenty more hot sunshine forecast for the coming days.

Northern Ireland Water said demand was outstripping supply, leaving them with no option but to bring in the ban in order to save water.

Elsewhere across the UK consumers are being urged to take simple steps to reduce the amount of water they use.

The meaning of the term “sunshine law” was unfamiliar to me.  When I put sunshine in my search engine, the phrase came up a lot in regards to business.

Sunshine laws are regulations requiring openness in government or business. Sunshine laws make meetings, records, votes, deliberations and other official actions available for public observation, participation and/or inspection.

1033am – this drawing was following the sunshine theme so had to add it to the post.  I surprised myself with drawing the sun in the form of a flower.  I hadn’t thought of doing that before.
