8 February 2023 First Meeting

Hello to you. How is your day going? I am doing ok so far. Last night we had our first meeting of the Women’s Bible study using the Beauty Beheld devotional. There were nine of us which was a nice amount I think. We read from Genesis the first seven days of creation and how God perceived his creation as good. This correlates to each person on this earth and other creation. Even if we might not perceive something as good of beautiful it is to God depending on what it is. There are some activities that people take part in that are in contradiction to good like child pornography was one example. Even if those who participate in it perceive it to be good it is harmful to the victims of it. We talked about the common phrase beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that can be twisted around sometimes too.

I can tell this will be a pretty challenging read and look at the Bible but I’m curious to continue on. The ladies that were there were all looking for the same things I am and that was namely fellowship with other members of the church. Very nice group of women I’m looking forward to knowing better through the next six weeks.

7 February 2023 Vitamin D and Comfort Zones

Hello to you. How are you today? Link and I are getting some vitamin D. The past couple days it’s been really nice outside so we’ve been taking advantage of it.

I decided to join a Bible study starting tonight and they are using the devotional Beauty not Beheld. This is out of my comfort zone but I decided to give it a try anyways. I have been wanting to make friends and get out of the house more and it seems like church activities is a way to do both. I find spiritual activities with women is more about relationship than religion. I feel like that is what I have with Jesus…..God.

Hello there. How are you? I hope your new year is off to a great start. Can you believe it’s the 9th already?!

I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions as I probably won’t keep them lol. What I do want is a positive year so let’s hope for that.

Happy new years to you. I hope your year is off to a fine start. My Aunt took me out to eat at our little favorite place the Rustic Table in Star which is a growing town right next to ours. I love my Aunt and making memories like this with her. I had a wonderful burger and she had a turkey sandwich. We shared a chocolate cream pie dessert. Yummy!

27 December 2022 Quiet World

Hello to you. How are you? I hope this finds you well. I just went and got groceries – not my favorite chore. When I bent down to a lower shelf to get some chicken soup I lost my balance and fell. Very embarrassing! I am too heavy and need to lose weight.

Today I’m thinking about how quiet my world is compared to when I was manic and was connected to the spirit world. I miss my friends – the benevolent spirits that kept me company. I was never alone or lonely when they were with me. Another side effect of the medication in addition to losing a lot of hair. My hair is really brittle and whenever I brush it a bunch comes out . This happened with Depakote before.

Quiet mind vacant drifts the waves fall on blank and porous shores.

20 December 2022 Family

Hello to you. How are you? I hope we’ll. I’m doing ok. Still having the swaying motion and stuff but can tell the prayers are helping. This past Sunday we got together to celebrate Christmas. We had a full house to include new baby Suton. The house was full but we had a nice time. My Uncle Bill catered the meal like normally does – bbq and a side dish of macaroni and cheese. We are all so grateful he does that as it makes getting together so much easier especially for my Aunt and Uncle.

We did the traditional gift exchange game and that was fun. I ended up with yummy See’s candy. My gift contribution was a fuel gift card and chocolate.

For Christmas Eve I will be going over to my cousins for brunch which will be nice. No plans for Christmas Day. They are doing construction on the main road I take to get to my Aunts and the route around is quite a detour.

2 December 2022 First Card

Today I received my first Christmas card from a long time friend. Hard to believe we are at the end of another year!

Do you like to exchange cards? I bought a couple today so I can reciprocate cards I receive. I used to write a letter but don’t do that anymore – printer issues.

Hello to you. How are you today? I hope you are well. I am thinking about how we should try to live our faith everyday not just on holidays and special occasions. When I was married that is something we figured out. You shouldn’t have to wait til your anniversary to express your love for each other. There are so many things that we do for the holidays that we should be doing all year long. We have the opportunity to live our faith every day. Live generously each day as you can.

Hello to you. How are you? Today I got my Idaho property tax bill – $672! Not exactly thrilled about that. The other thing today is my swaying issue. I can barely walk it was so bad today. So frustrating . I have an appt on Monday about it. There is a part of me that is skeptical that the medical establishment will be able to help me. We shall see what happens. There is a part of me wondering if this was brought on by the tasering I experienced back in August. They say brain damage can be a side effect.
