Hello to you. How are you? I’m dealing with a cold and cough I picked up somewhere. Probably from stress from stuff I’ve been dealing with lately. No changes on the Dad front – appreciate your prayers and positive messages.
I don’t think I would pay to go to the moon. I have not been in a plane for several years much less contemplating going in a spaceship leaving the planet! I don’t think I could do it. There are so many places on the earth I haven’t been much less paying to go to the moon!
Genesis 1:16New International Version
16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
Share a story about the furthest you’ve ever traveled from home.
The furthest I’ve traveled from home was Europe when I was in the military. One of my favorite memories is when we went to visit the Swan Kings castles Neushwanstein and Linderhof in Germany. We saw them on a bus tour. What a beautiful place to have castles.
This was the song I listened to on the bus on the way there – it was snowing:
Hello to you today. How are you? I woke up really early this morning with anxiety. It’s probably because I know my Aunt is having her shoulder surgery today. I am hoping everything goes well. I suggested to her to ask the doctor and nurses to pray with her beforehand – sometimes they do that.
Todays prompt makes me think of the good old days when I used to travel when I was in the military stationed overseas. We used the base MWR (Morale Welfare Recreation) services and got to see and do a lot that way. They chartered buses and that’s how we got around much of Europe – and trains. We weren’t saddled down with pets yet. When we were overseas the only pet we had was a cockatiel named Cheeky. She didn’t need to be boarded. Once we got back to the states I got May and Amber my cats and that put a damper on travel. We still did it but not for great lengths of time. Having cats and dogs and boarding them costs about as much as the trip without them! It’s expensive to travel having pets – there are extra fees to hotel rooms. Just traveling from Texas to Idaho with Link wasn’t cheap.

Someday when I don’t have a pet, which I don’t know if that will be ever, (lol) I wouldn’t mind taking another cruise to Europe and seeing parts I didn’t see when I was over there like Ireland and may be Norway and Scotland. May be I’ll have a traveling buddy by then?! It would be nice to share an experience like that.
This psalm is beautiful for all kinds of travel – thinking of my Aunt:
Psalm 121New International Version
Psalm 121
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Hello to you. How are you doing today? I have been kind of tired but less pain. Thank you for your prayers!
Todays prompt is kind of fun – we get to dream a bit. When I was active duty and stationed in Germany I loved how easy it was to travel from one country to another. One of my favorite memories was riding a train from Frankfurt Germany to Milan Italy. I didn’t get to Ireland, Norway, Switzerland or the crystal tours to Poland. I never got to Japan, Korea, Egypt or China. I have had friends who have been to those places and told me about their experiences but it’s not quite the same as going there yourself! Bottom line is there are a lot of cool places to visit but I doubt I will get there.
I have wanted to go to Ireland in person for a long time. I flew over it in my dreams once. I flew along the shore like a bird and into a little tiny house where a woman with long red hair was eating her hair – she had children. I found out later that with the potato famine in Ireland this actually happened!
Thank goodness for drones. One of my favorite past times is watching drone footage of traveling in various countries and parks.
A fantasy I had was taking a family cruise that would allow pets so we wouldn’t have to pay for kenneling while we were gone. I don’t like leaving Link behind and that is a big reason why I don’t want to travel now. It was really hard when I was in the hospital and away from him. This is the double edged sword of having companion animals.
On the majesty of God: Genesis 1:1-4
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.”
On letting God lead the way: Exodus 13:21
“By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel by day or night.”
Hello to you. How is your day going? I just got the dress I ordered in the mail. It’s a little big but looks nice. I ordered it from one of my favorite online stores Pyramid. Now I need to figure out shoes. I have some that will match but my Aunt thinks I need sandals. It will all come together.
Todays prompt is kind of a tough one as I have been medically retired for several years and don’t really have stressful days like I used to have when I was on active duty. When I was working full time I didn’t have much time to unwind. I would come home from work and I would do all the stuff that needed to be done that I couldn’t do while working – my second job! Chores like cleaning, taking care of my cats, cooking and laundry. My second job was being a wife. There just wasn’t a lot of time to unwind.
The unwinding happened mostly when I would take leave from work and we traveled. I used to really enjoy traveling. When I was stationed in Germany, my first husband and I traveled almost every weekend. When we were stationed in Colorado and Florida we went fishing a lot. It was relaxing to be out near the water and in nature.
A verse about rest:
Matthew 11:28-30New International Version
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
