Hello to you, how are you doing today? I’m doing pretty good. Had a nice little visit with my cousin Tony this morning. He came over and we had a walk and went over to the Sunrise Cafe for something to eat.
So how do I relax? When I think of relaxing I think of relieving tension in my body. I focus on my breathing – deep breathes. I remember to exhale as deeply as I inhale. Relaxing is something I actively do to feel better and relieve tension. I also listen to soothing music and meditations.
Share a story about the furthest you’ve ever traveled from home.
The furthest I’ve traveled from home was Europe when I was in the military. One of my favorite memories is when we went to visit the Swan Kings castles Neushwanstein and Linderhof in Germany. We saw them on a bus tour. What a beautiful place to have castles.
This was the song I listened to on the bus on the way there – it was snowing:
My ideal home doesn’t look much different than where I am living right now. The only difference would be there would be more storage, built in shelving and a doggy door. I could use a couple more square ft. I would also love a water feature like a pool or fountain. These are just wants not needs so probably not ever going come to fruition.
I don’t know if this home will be my last. I know I can’t sell this house and buy another with interest rates being what they are. I’m a little concerned about Wells Fargo bank closures as of late too!
I used to be the “who dropped the hat lady” the person who would cry at the drop of a hat. I’m not really like that any more – the past few years events has really toughened me up. The one thing that still brings a tear of joy is seeing someone I haven’t seen in a long time. I am like a dog I think in that regard! Just so happy, on a soul level, to see you. I can remember the times my parents came to visit Kyle and I in Texas or when when my friend Melinda visited – just such a surprise and so much happiness. There are aspects like this that make me miss the house in Texas.
Proverbs 24:3-4New International Version
Saying 21
3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; 4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Hello to you. How is your weekend? I’m pooped. I went to church and got groceries and feel like I ran a marathon! I’m so out of shape! I’m looking forward to the Tai chi exercises through the VA starting on the 11th.
I have been blogging for a long time. All the way back to MySpace and Newsvine! The main reason I started blogging was to help people and get my story out in the world. I believe if even one person, even if it’s just me, has been helped by my messages then I have completed my goal.
Malachi 3:1-5New International Version
3 “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.
2 But who can endure the day of his coming?Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, 4 and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years.
5 “So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the Lord Almighty.
How am I feeling right now? I’m feeling ok. Trying to have a attitude of gratitude. Some days are harder than others to do that. I constantly have a weird pulling in my ears that makes me anxious. It’s very debilitating. I have some things I listen to on YouTube that help- Relax For Awhile with Joan and Jason Stephenson are my favorites.
Philippians 4:6 NIV – 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?
The daily habit that improves my quality of life is walking. Each day I try to walk around the block even if I don’t want to. Taking a walk each each day is the one thing I have tried to consistently do. It’s not easy for me to do with the swaying issues I have going on in my head. Sometimes I feel like a shambling zombie I’m so stiff but I’m not giving up!
1 John 2:3-6
3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?
The last thing I searched for online was a positive message of hope in the bible. The reason was to reinforce that no matter how things seem right now hope can be found. It’s kind of like when my ex and I lived in an apartmentcomplex that got made into section 8. When we walked Sam there we always found the beauty. By looking at the pictures from that time you would never guess it was a dump!
As I’ve gotten older and been through some things I wish I hadn’t, I still try to find beauty where I’m at – hope. it’s difficult these days!
Hebrews 11:1-2New International Version
Faith in Action
11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope forand assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
Hello there. How are you? Todays prompt makes me think of watching Capt Kangaroo, Little House on the Prairie, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, Sesame Street and Star Trek. These are just a couple of the tv shows I watched as a kid.
Captain Kangaroo is an American children’s television series that aired weekday mornings on the American television network CBS for 29 years, from 1955 to 1984, making it the longest-running nationally broadcast children’s television program of its day.[2][3] In 1986, the American Program Service (now American Public Television, Boston) integrated some newly produced segments into reruns of past episodes, distributing the newer version of the series to PBS and independent public stations until 1993.

1 Peter 1:21New International Version
21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
