# 11 Sept 2018 Are you sorry you did something wrong or just sorry you got caught?

Kyle and I were talking today about whether or not most people are genuinely sorry when they have done something wrong.  Are they sorry about what they did or are they just sorry because they got caught.  It seems like there are so many laws that don’t get enforced or if they do they are not consistently enforced.  I honestly believe the lack of consistency goes to a lot more people are misbehaving than we have law enforcement to actually catch them at it.  I also suspect there are many laws on the books that really are either too complicated for the average person to understand or are out of step with our times.  Many people probably don’t even know they are even breaking a law there are so many of them and they are so complicated to understand.  The term “legalese” comes to mind.  I’ve tried to read some laws and it’s made my head hurt.  The language they use for a lot of laws are not the normal words that most of us use day to day.  Did they do that on purpose?  May be.

I’m going to take a break from here for a couple of days.  We are going to be having some extra four legged visitors for a few days and that will keep me pretty occupied!  Another reason I need to step away is I know I’m repeating myself.  I tried to draw today and I was empty – nothing came to me.  This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it does make for a disappointment for those of you who started following my blog for my art works!

Anyhew… here is my brainstorm.  It’s not all inclusive but it’s interesting to see some of the common terms in numbers.  I am doing something a little different and making sure the dividing by 2 happens all the way through.  It’s interesting to see how some of these items really are not straight-forward and require analysis, which is pretty accurate to what is actually going on.

libel 1) n. to publish in print (including pictures), writing or broadcast through radio, television or film, an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation, by tending to bring the target into ridicule, hatred, scorn or contempt of others. Libel is the written or broadcast form of defamation, distinguished from slander, which is oral defamation. It is a tort (civil wrong) making the person or entity (like a newspaper, magazine or political organization) open to a lawsuit for damages by the person who can prove the statement about him/her was a lie. Publication need only be to one person, but it must be a statement which claims to be fact and is not clearly identified as an opinion. While it is sometimes said that the person making the libelous statement must have been intentional and malicious, actually it need only be obvious that the statement would do harm and is untrue. Proof of malice, however, does allow a party defamed to sue for general damages for damage to reputation, while an inadvertent libel limits the damages to actual harm (such as loss of business) called special damages. Libel per se involves statements so vicious that malice is assumed and does not require a proof of intent to get an award of general damages. Libel against the reputation of a person who has died will allow surviving members of the family to bring an action for damages. Most states provide for a party defamed by a periodical to demand a published retraction. If the correction is made, then there is no right to file a lawsuit. Governmental bodies are supposedly immune to actions for libel on the basis that there could be no intent by a non-personal entity, and further, public records are exempt from claims of libel. However, there is at least one known case in which there was a financial settlement as well as a published correction when a state government newsletter incorrectly stated that a dentist had been disciplined for illegal conduct. The rules covering libel against a “public figure” (particularly a political or governmental person) are special, based on U.S. Supreme Court decisions. The key is that to uphold the right to express opinions or fair comment on public figures, the libel must be malicious to constitute grounds for a lawsuit for damages. Minor errors in reporting are not libel, such as saying Mrs. Jones was 55 when she was only 48, or getting an address or title incorrect. 2) v. to broadcast or publish a written defamatory statement.

# 14 July 2018 Seeing Without Eyes

Hello there.  How are you doing?  It’s Saturday night and now that the sun is dimming, it’s finally cooler.  It was a scorcher again today!  I slept a lot today to try and shake this fatigue I’ve been feeling.

A message came to me as I was trying to drift off, “You don’t have to have eyes to see.  There is vision in feeling…the clouds use the winds to see as well as feel.”   Those who have lost their vision can be physically blind or spiritually bankrupt.  It’s so easy in this world to be tempted to give our souls away to people, places and things that don’t deserve them!

Something I’ve had to learn and relearn over and overdon’t give your personal power away!

What came to mind with this message about vision is what often happens when I go outside with my head phones on, close my eyes and move my hands through the air around me.  Sometimes I will go out and it’s completely still, no air moving at all.  Then I’ll do that simple ritual I do and a breeze will start to flow through the trees and around me.  It feels like nature responding to my touch almost!  It’s a beautiful experience!  I often imagine I’m flying when this happens.  I’ll open my eyes and look up in the sky and all sorts of birdies will be soaring around above me.

In all honesty, I’m thinking they are enjoying a nice meal I’ve stirred up for them with my moving around!  It’s magical to watch anyway!

I’ve shared this here before, I just love this scene, I love this movie.  This scene shows what it’s like for me sometimes when I’m outside, there is music in the winds.  When we just allow ourselves to connect with the child within the world becomes a place where anything is possible:

# 26 May 2018 Not Forgotten

This post is about remembering and being grateful for what we have.  It’s so easy to take the people, places and things of this life for granted.   Last night I started reading Vampire Hunter D books again and came across one of my favorite phrases in it, page 70 – “Transient Guests Are We.”   Indeed, we are guests and the Earth, our Mother, the hostess.

8 Sept 2012 – Hope emerges. Thought of this drawing with the message from the World Prayers site.

# 24 May 2018 Drawing Seven and Nailed It (Netflix)

Hello to you.  Hope this finds you well wherever and whenever you  are as you visit here.  Thank you for stopping by!

Before bed last night I did this drawing and there is a lot going on!  The seeming eternal worship of people who may be don’t deserve the honors, paranoia (“eyes” being everywhere these days),  Hawaii’s  Mt. Kilauea blowing up (https://qz.com/1287008/hawaiis-kilauea-volcano-is-creating-methane-fissures-in-the-streets/), prayers to heaven and tears of rain falling in response and finally the seven deadly sins that refuse to stay “dead.”

I have been doing a lot of praying for the worlds greatest good these days.  There is so much it’s hard to focus on just one thing.  I just want things to be better for everyone (not just humans) and apparently that is quite a difficult thing to orchestrate for God.  I imagine God has this huge board of the present time and all the pieces of the future that have to land just so in order for desired outcomes to occur.  Even though we think things couldn’t possibly head in a better direction standing in this moment, I feel there is a divine plan at work.  Even if things won’t be immediately better for many of us, I am sincerely hoping our children will fare much better.  We are a part of the change they will live to see…..the people they will eventually be.

24 May 2018 – drawing I did before bed last night. A lot going on!

Doesn’t it feel like just when you have one of the seven under control another rises up to take its place?!  Such a tightrope act to be a balanced human being in such a chaotic world.    We are trying to find more reasons to be grateful, to laugh and to love.  We found a fun show on Netflix recently, Nailed It, that is helping for a bit.  It is absolutely hilarious to watch ordinary people try to recreate really elaborate pastries!  The two primary judges, Nicole Byer and French chef Jacques Torres, are absolutely adorable.  Hopefully there will be more than one season.  Thank you Nicole and Jacques for helping make our world a little brighter.
