Hello to you. How are you? We’ve been having a really good day today. I had an appointment I look forward to and then afterwards, to maximize our time out and about, we got some errands done in Burleson.
At PetSmart, besides the normal Blue Dog Food, we found an organic spray from Earthbath, Hot Spot Relief Spritz at PetSmart (https://earthbath.com/product/hot-spot-relief-spritz/) to help Link and Spot with seasonal allergy irritations. Link has a real problem with allergies and insect bites. I asked the woman who was at checkout (she always seems to be working lol), Cindy, if they were treating her well and her reply made me smile, “Yes they do, I love my job.” How many people do you know that can say that?! So awesome!
After that we stopped by Michael’s and I picked up a batch of canvas for painting. I am excited because I think I’ve talked Kyle into doing a painting with me! I would love to hang up a painting by him in the house! I also found a little glass box on sale (http://www.michaels.com/clear-glass-display-box-with-lid-by-bead-landing/10492022.html#q=glass+box&start=10) to hold our essential oils so they don’t take up so much space on the kitchen counter. We also grabbed a couple small boxes of chalk with colors I use the most to augment what I already have that’s almost gone. I went out for a bit after we got home….couldn’t stay out there….just too hot!
After all this we decided to use the gift cards my parents had given to us for Christmas for Logan’s Steakhouse. As always, it was a wonderful experience. Besides a great steak their root beer just tasted so good! We had to flag ourselves of the stuff LOL! Our server, Joseph, was having his first day without supervision and was terrific. We encouraged him to hold on to his wonderful attitude. Being a waiter or waitress is not an easy job!
I know this post is full of mundane activities but for me, after the past few months of not trusting anything or anyone and not wanting to leave the house, it was a big deal. It was a big deal for Kyle to have his “normal” happy and silly wife back. It’s the little things that fill all the space from our start to our finish. They are precious moments never to take for granted.
This poem is about what my last bought with an episode, a cycle, a spiritual awakening….whatever the hell happens to me was like. This last one was very volatile and we had a lot of broken stuff. Kyle, the dogs, my family, my friends, my doctors, and even our amazing local cops helped me so much. Just my Dad calling me during the worst of it, pleading with me to take my meds, my Mom sending a three line note in the mail…it all meant everything. I will tell you that you don’t have to wait to die and go to heaven to encounter angels on this earth! Sadly we know with the way the past couple of years have been, this won’t be the last time we go through this. Just a varying degree of it.
Journey back to Me – (Jackie)
The strangers walked through the door in me
There was mistrust, shattered glass, cops, and conversations with the unseen
A gap in the veil most cannot see
An entire cast of unseen characters took center stage on my chest
Me a mere puppet
A pulsing heart with my flesh and blood sewn….unable to sleep…..unable to rest
Perhaps it was my sweetheart’s and dogs unconditional love
The drugs or some kind of divine intervention
But I was able to finally journey back to me
Sadly we know the seasons and cycles will turn
I will not remain this me…free……
