Hello to you. It’s 9:28 pm on this Wednesday evening. How are you? I’m doing better after Kyle and I were able to talk with our neighbor about the fence, dog and poop situation this evening. Sounds like chicken wire will be the solution until we can all afford to replace the fence entirely. Works for me! It made me feel better to be able to apologize for the outburst this morning and get things sorted out. All he heard was yelling and wasn’t sure what was going on. It had been bugging me all day! I don’t like being mad at people or having unresolved conflict with people.
So this evening Kyle and I were able to squeeze in part of another episode of the Living and Dead BBC One program…make it last as long as we can lol. We also did our You tube channels scan for stuff to watch and came across this very insightful video from the Thoughty2 channel about why the youth of today are having so much trouble with depression. It ties in nicely to the links I shared on my previous post today about Smartphones and their effect on young people’s mental health/self esteem and suicide related issues. This video addresses a lot of things people may have not considered when making harsh judgements about young people of the past couple of generations.
Today’s Youth Are Depressed, Here’s Why…
Moby & The Void Pacific Choir – Are You Lost In The World Like Me? (Official Video) – this little film sums it all up so well….so sad but true.
This is a video I saw yesterday that was very interesting to me too. It inspired the chalk drawing I did of the Sumerian and the Reaper. I have found the story of the Sumerians quite fascinating and kind of crossed paths with some of their history, specifically their language of the cuneiform, when I was trying to get some closure on the character Vanessa Ives from the show Penny Dreadful: https://saymber.com/2016/09/20/20-sept-2016-vanessa-ives-of-penny-dreadful-and-lilith-cuneiform-sumerian-language-finding-mementos-of-your-past-revisiting-harsh-lessons-of-farm-life-and-death-as-a-city-girl/
THIS is Why The Sumerians are NOT Taught in School – Sumerian Tablets – Lost Ancient Civilization
How is it possible that the Sumerian’s ONLY get 1-3 Sentences in the Textbooks? The world’s FIRST human civilization that dates back 6,000 years, that created our modern system of time, the calendar, writing, agriculture, and everything else is not required learning in school. This video outlines what the Sumerian tablets/records.
Here to close…this beautiful poem by Edgar Allen Poe that I have never read before:
Evening Star – Poem by Edgar Allan Poe
‘Twas noontide of summer,
And mid-time of night;
And stars, in their orbits,
Shone pale, thro’ the light
Of the brighter, cold moon,
‘Mid planets her slaves,
Herself in the Heavens,
Her beam on the waves.
I gazed awhile
On her cold smile;
Too cold- too cold for me-
There pass’d, as a shroud,
A fleecy cloud,
And I turned away to thee,
Proud Evening Star,
In thy glory afar,
And dearer thy beam shall be;
For joy to my heart
Is the proud part
Thou bearest in Heaven at night,
And more I admire
Thy distant fire,
Than that colder, lowly light.
Sending hugs, love, hope and all the good I can muster through the wires to you…..please do pass it along 🙂
