Hello! Hope this finds you well as you visit. It’s been in 100’s here every day….thank you God for making the sun go to bed at night!
Had a couple interesting dreams. One was about sitting with a blonde woman friend who was apparently an Olympic athlete and we were watching the Olympics. I asked her if she missed it and she got up and showed me how her body was degenerating from not competing.
The dream before I woke up was about haunted houses that were like a contagion. I could see ghosts at the houses. I was in an upstairs window and could see a man in an SUV driving away. He looked like Joss Whedon but with a full head of hair. He was on his back looking up at me as I pulled down the shade to the window I was looking out of.
The last dream was probably triggered by my finding out they are they are rebooting Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Seems some are not happy about this. I hope Joss intends to give the new slayer her own story. Give her and the cast she will share time with a life of their own that isn’t what has already come before. It would be very lazy on his part to just change the race of the lead and rehash everything. You can, but probably shouldn’t, remake the original series for those of us that adored it. The cast and stories of that version are fixed – even in comic books. We need a completely new journey with a new slayer. I’m guessing that’s probably what he intends to do but we’ll see. People are being real quick to jump on his back already before we’ve really seen anything concrete from him about what he intends to do with this.
I’m excited. I’ve been wanting to see more of Joss specific work for quite some time. I hope they will let him have the creative flexibility to do a show like only he can do. I have seen the influence of his style of writing, the quips in particular, in a lot of recent movies and shows. He has a sense of balance and timing (drama, humor and action) that really resonates with me and keeps my attention. I wish him and all involved well on this endeavor.
Be warned, blood suckers, there’s a new slayer coming to town!
Gail Berman, Joe Earley, Fran Kazui and Kaz Kazui (who produced the 1992 “Buffy” film, written by Whedon, which inspired the TV series) will also serve as executive producers on the project.
This morning I had to smile. This was the Bing search engine picture for today. I’ve been drawing this image a lot lately. Sending you positive vibes on the winds and the waters that connect all of us.
