29 Nov 2017 Todays meditations and GLOW – Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (Netflix and film)

Hello to you. Today was interesting. It was basically a day long active meditation. Some of the issues that came up have come up for me many times before but felt still unresolved. At first I had the World map out, statues, crystals, replicas I’ve collected from places I’ve visited around the world. It felt like some sort of subconscious board game was being played out. This isn’t anything new for me. The last time it happened in the house. Ultimately this ends up being a great way for our knick-knacks to actually have a purpose and this activity makes cleaning them more interesting…enjoyable. It may seem an unusual way to meditate but it works for me.  Some people sit still, close their eyes and focus on their breathing….I do this.

At one point I brought out some Tarot cards I had made a few years ago and something interesting happened with that. I had placed several cards on a drawing representing Spiritual Checks and Balances. Then all the sudden a gust of wind like an unseen hand came and blew all but a couple out of the drawing and into the yard. I had to laugh to myself a bit. I can remember picking up the cards and thinking as I looked at the sun, “So you are paying attention!” The cards I was left with were interesting; the High Priestess, Temperance, the Ace of Swords and the King of Swords.

According to the book I have, Tarot for Beginners by P Scott Hollander (2006), these cards are pretty accurate to the context of the drawing beneath them:

High Priestess: Divine Wisdom; enlightenment. Understanding of (or the need to understand) the reasons things work the way they do.

Temperance: Patience, self-control, willingness to learn understanding.

King of Swords: The Kind of Swords is a man of authority and power, often in his own right, and certainly in the terms of the querent’s personal or professional life. He is someone accustomed to giving orders and seeing to it that they are obeyed. The querent will see him as someone whose motives are not always clear; he sometimes seems a powerful ally and at other times an unscrupulous enemy. Be warned, however, that whatever this man says or does he is out to forward his own interests first, and will ride roughshod over anyone who gets in his way. This is a man who sits in judgement, both of situations and of those under his authority.

Ace of Swords: A card of triumph, in an almost excessive degree. It carries with it the concept of triumph by force: physical force, force of will, force of position or circumstances.

Anyhew…changing gears:

Today we finished watching another fantastic Netflix series called GLOW – Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. We watched the movie about the real wrestlers last night….tears were shed! Emily Dole aka Mt Fiji just stole our hearts! I have a funny memory about GLOW. I can remember my parents coming to visit my ex-husband and I in our little crappy apartment in California. We had the show on when they came in and my Mom was like, “Can you please turn that off ?!” She didn’t want Dad watching it lol. My Dad and I used to watch the male wrestlers all the time. I used to crack up watching him and my Grandpa (his Dad) watching wrestling as they would jerk around like they were the ones actually in the ring!

Anyhew – great writing, great casting, great acting, great sets, great costumes…..just so well done! We had to fight the urge to binge watch it!

One of our favorite lines by character Sam Sylvia:

“Oh Christ. Crying, Caring, the desperation. That, that’s what make syou unbearable. Look, I don’t like you Strindberg. Take that in. Hold on to it. Try not giving a fuck. There’s a lot of power in that. (Sam approaches the car) And relax. The devil gets all the best lines.”

The lyrics to the song resonate very strongly to our current times!  When Kyle and I heard it watching the last episode we both got goosebumps!

Invincible

This bloody road remains a mystery
This sudden darkness fills the air
What are we waiting for?
Won’t anybody help us?
What are we waiting for?

We can’t afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible

This shattered dream you cannot justify
We’re gonna scream until we’re satisfied
What are we running for?
We’ve got the right to be angry
What are we running for?
When there’s no where we can run to anymore

We can’t afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible
And with the power of conviction
There is no sacrifice
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible

Won’t anybody help us?
What are we running for?
When there’s no where, no where we can run to anymore

We can’t afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible

And with the power of conviction
There is no sacrifice
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

We can’t afford to be innocent (yeah)
Stand up and face the enemy (yeah)
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible

We can’t afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It’s a do or die situation
We will be invincible

28 Nov 2017 Connections (drawing inspired by misifusa blog Connecting the Dots)

Hello again.  Just put some food to bake in the oven, the easy pot-pie and have a couple of minutes as we wait.  It’s been a lovely and breezy first part of the day.  As I sat outside doing the drawing I’m going to share, I was being pelted by falling leaves lol.  I loved it.  Leaves hitting me in the face, landing on my drawing or in my lap lol.  I imagined this was the trees with the help of the winds expressing their opinion about things….”put another circle right there!” *leaf falls on the paper in a blank spot lol.

This drawing was inspired by fellow WordPress blogger misifusa’s post today about the special connections we make as bloggers.   As I was drawing, I began to think about all the connections that exist at all levels of our existence.  From one star’s path to another’s in space to a leaf blowing in my yard from a tree across the street.  There is the old 6 degrees of separation connection game.  The connections in our brain from one neural path to another.  It seems so random but is it really?  I don’t think the connections are just a coincidence.  When you lay them all out it’s like a map….a complex plan.

https://misifusa.wordpress.com/2017/11/28/connecting-the-dots/

Excerpt and shared sentiment not just about the blogosphere but just life itself:

“So today, I’m grateful for all of our connections, internet and otherwise.  I love how blogging has expanded our friendships globally.  I can now count friendships with all of you, in many different countries and across the USA.  We are gratefully united through friendship and caring.”

28 Nov 2017 The backhanded compliment or asteism

Hello to you. How are you doing in your today? I’m doing pretty good just reallllllyyyy sore lol! We did the tree trimming yesterday in the front and back yard and then there was the dismembering of the severed limbs without a mulcher!  I really wish our town had a lending closet for things like mulchers and other mechanisms you need to maintain a house but only need like once a year. Anyhew…..the trees look much better. I noticed that there were limbs we took from the Pecan that had suspicious white patches that weren’t just bird poop on them. Hopefully she’ll be healthier for the trimming. I think we did a better job than the people we had hired a couple of years ago who did just about nothing and too $300 from us!

The dream realm was much quieter last night. The only one I slightly remember had to do with London making room for India.

The topic today, the backhanded compliment, comes from me seeing people in highly visible places seemingly trying to do something nice and then in the midst of doing that, throw out an ill-timed racial slur or insult. I’ve noticed this happening on a repeated occasions for one person in particular and it’s really rather sad.  It is a recurring event and the people that are supposed to be helping prevent such faux pas are failing miserably.  More distractions from that Russian probe, the FCC net neutrality repeal and tax bill they are trying to work on.   Kyle’s visual for this sort of thing is using a kitchen plate and holding it in front of a raised middle finger and saying….”look at the plate.”

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2017/11/27/trump-calls-elizabeth-warren-pocahontas-while-hosting-native-american-war-heroes-event/898815001/ – “President Trump couldn’t resist using his old nickname for Sen. Elizabeth Warren – “Pocahontas” – even at an event honoring Native American war heroes.”

This said, I have been guilty through the course of my life of the backhanded compliment or asteism (new word I learned today).  So what exactly is a backhanded compliment?

A backhanded compliment, also known as a left-handed compliment or asteism, is an insult that is disguised as a compliment. Sometimes, a backhanded compliment may be inadvertent. However, the term usually connotes an intent to belittle or condescend.

Insult – Wikipedia

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backhanded_compliment

I didn’t know what an asteism was. When I tried to find out what it meant, I kept getting the word asterism which is a cluster of stars in the night sky – which is far from an insult lol!

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/asteism

Noun[edit]

asteism (plural asteisms)

Polite irony; a genteel and ingenious manner of deriding another.

Here is an article I found with some really great examples:

Backhanded Compliments That Actually Don’t Flatter Anyone

June 10, 2014 by Ella

“Ella actually wrote a good article.”

Perfect example of a backhanded compliment! Anything with “actually” in the sentence is, actually, instantly less flattering. And don’t even get me started with so-called compliments that end with, “for a (insert an offensive noun—i.e., girl, guy, any and every race)”.

I asked my friends for the worst compliments they’ve ever received. I’m going to break this down into a few categories: race, sex (gender and more), heavy topics, appearance, and intelligence. These are my personal favorites, even though these comments are anything but favorable.

Race:

“You have nice hair for a black girl.”

“You’re really cute for a dark-skinned/black girl.”

But really, this applies for any and every race. As someone who’s Filipino, I constantly have gotten: “You’re really cute for an Asian.” and, “You have really big eyes for an Asian.”

The “for a (insert an offensive noun)” seems to go hand-in-hand with race.

Oh, and if you’re even remotely “exotic-/foreign-” looking, “You look like a Kardashian.” (Since when were they their own ethnicity?)

Sex (gender and then some):

“I like you because I’m not intimidated by you. Well, not that I think men should be intimidated by women anyway.”

“Out of all my friends with whom I could have said I had the worst sex in the world last night, I’m glad it was you.”

“You don’t look like that much of a boy with your hair that short.”

Heavy Topics:

“The extra curve actually works on you.” (in regards to the Freshmen 15)

“I’m glad you’re not one of those girls that thinks she needs to lose weight. You don’t want to be skinny anyway.”

“You’re really pretty for a big girl.”

“You’re the whole package! You’re funny, talented, smart… I mean, if you were only skinnier you’d be absolutely perfect.”

“You’re not like obese, you’re like… skinny-fat.”

“This dress is way too big on me, so I think it will look really great on you!”

“You can dance really well for a fat girl.”

“Wow, you really get pretty when you lose weight!”

“Hey, let me know if you ever want help losing weight!” (Note that her father said this to her.)

“You’d look healthier if you lost 20 pounds.”

Appearance beyond weight (no pun intended):

“You should dye your hair brunette. Your blonde hair really doesn’t make you look as intelligent as you actually are.”

“Well, you look really pretty when you put on some mascara and dress nice…”

On Tinder a woman displayed her multiple hair colors and one guy asked, “What color is your hair now?” She said blonde, and he responded, “Well if you were my gf maybe for my birthday you could die it brunette, it looked super sexy. (sic)” He got blocked after the spelling and creepiness. Conversely, she also had a boyfriend try to convince her to dye her hair platinum.

“You’re much better looking in person than in pictures.”

“You grew into your head.”

“You got prettier in college.”

“Your hair looks way better straight!” (to a person with naturally curly hair)

“This isn’t really yours, is it? Thank God you blossomed…you should get your picture retaken.” (said by a cop about my friend’s ID on her birthday)

“You’re still pretty even though you have a big nose.”

“It must be so nice to have such small boobs.” (Spoiler: it forever makes you unable to be the “hot” girl; you’re always the “cute” one.)

“You kind of look like you’re 13. But that’ll come in handy when you’re old!”

Intelligence:

“You’re very detail-oriented but since you have issues with flexibility you’ll need a job where you basically do the same thing every day.”

“You’re a lot smarter than I thought!” (said to a sorority woman)

“You’re so cool. If you looked like (insert random girl’s name) you would be perfect!”

“It must be great to be an only child. You’re so used to being alone.”

“I wish I could be more like you and not have any feelings.”

“You’re so much nicer and smarter than what people say about you.”

“You’re talented? But you’re in a sorority!”

OK, granted, no one intends to give a backhanded compliment—at least I can only hope not. However, I couldn’t help but notice how much more backhanded compliments were related to weight and intelligence.

Perception is everything. We perceive things without even realizing we’re perceiving them. For instance: When you first see someone, naturally the first thing you perceive is their gender. It’s no wonder that gender was a common theme as well.

I’ll admit, these backhanded compliments, while anything but flattering, are pretty funny from an outside perspective. But it made me realize something. (Wait, a sorority girl who actually thinks?! Sorry, I had to go there): How easy it is to come off ignorant and stereotypical. This especially hit home when I thought about the race comments. As someone who has been called a “cute Asian,” here’s a thought: can I just be a cute person? Just a thought! And the weight comments being one of the most popular themes, next to intelligence… I’m sorry, but why is being skinny, and especially being intelligent something of such a rarity that it’s worth commenting on?

I just can’t help but think that the people who are saying these backhanded compliments are the ones who we should be more concerned with… not the people who are receiving the backhanded compliments.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m fortunate for any compliment that comes my way. But for future reference, if you’re going to say a compliment, let’s make sure to articulate and tailor it in a way that’s actually flattering. (Oops, there it is again, the “actually” comment.

Well, I might be one of the biggest hypocrites… but at least I’m smart enough to write for Literally, Darling!

27 Nov 2017 “Come and See Me” (dreams)

Hello to you.  How are you doing in your present?  It’s 7:52 am on this Monday morning as I begin to write to you.  Can’t spend too much time here as we have chores today….tree trimming…yeah….can you hear my enthusiasm lol?

So lots of dreams this morning, starting about 1:42 am on.  I can tell that I recently spent time with children and yesterday during my adventures in FFXIV my character Aurora flew with a lost character Minfilia (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Minfilia_Warde):

17 Nov 2017 – my FFXIV avatar Aurora in new duds!

Final Fantasy XIV: HeavenswardEdit

FFXIV Minfilia Returns<img src=”https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/c/cb/FFXIV_Minfilia_Returns.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20160212102614″ alt=”FFXIV Minfilia Returns” class=”thumbimage ” data-image-key=”FFXIV_Minfilia_Returns.png” data-image-name=”FFXIV Minfilia Returns.png” width=”180″ height=”101″ >

Minfilia’s body being used by Hydaelyn.

We speak now with one Voice. One Will. One Word. Unto thee we bequeath the most precious of gifts: the truth which lieth at the heart of this world.

—The Word of the Mother to the adventurer

After the adventurer defeats Archbishop Thordan VII and reunites with Y’shtola and Thancred, the Scions are joined by Minfilia’s close friend, Krile. With her help, the Scions discover the truth of Minfilia’s fate in Ul’dah, and attempt to find her with whatever knowledge of the Aetherial Sea they can obtain from the Antitower.

The adventurer is transported to the Mother Crystal’s realm and learns of Minfilia’s new existence as “The Word of the Mother.” She reveals the existence of Zodiark and urges the adventurer to stop the Ascians. Seemingly using the remainder of her strength in the encounter, Minfilia dissipates before returning the adventurer to Eorzea.

FFXIV Minfilia's Death<img src=”https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/e/e8/FFXIV_Minfilia%27s_Death.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20160819064005″ alt=”FFXIV Minfilia's Death” class=”thumbimage ” data-image-key=”FFXIV_Minfilia%27s_Death.png” data-image-name=”FFXIV Minfilia's Death.png” width=”180″ height=”101″ >

Minfilia, moments before dissipating into the aether.

Though disheartened to learn of Minfilia’s apparent demise, the Scions promise to fulfill her wishes and defeat the Ascians once and for all. They choose to keep the truth of Minfilia’s fate a secret known to only the leadership of the Scions, telling the remainder of their allies, including F’lhaminn, merely that their efforts to locate her have reached a dead end.

Some time later, Urianger manipulates both the Warriors of Darkness and the Scions into a confrontation. During the conflict, the power of the crystals held by the Warriors of Darkness combines with that of the Adventurer, transporting everyone present into the Mother Crystal’s realm, and reconstituting Minfilia. Urianger reveals that this was his goal, and apologizes for his apparent betrayal. Minfilia agrees to travel to the Warriors of Darkness’ world as Hydaelyn’s avatar in order to save it from the flood of light that threatens to destroy it, despite knowing that she will likely never be able to return to Eorzea. She bids farewell to her friends, and thanks F’lhaminn for everything she did for her, before leaving with the Warriors of Darkness.

The dreams:

1:42 am

Very clear message in dream — blue background with white letters that said, “Come and see me”  But who would I be going to see?!  Very unclear that part!

3:30 am

Children trapped in the stairwell of a school.  I can remember the railing was like a lime green color.  I helped them find a way out but going the opposite direction from where they were standing with a man who seemed to be trying to figure out how to help.  One child was “featured” in this dream kind of like one might be in a newspaper.  He had short blonde hair and blue eyes and was expressing gratitude about life.

4:59 am

This dream was about being able to fly, it was a snowy place.  I met family there who could too but then I was in a place, like a nursing home or children’s home or something – a place for sick people.  I remember trying to write down last wishes but then it was “time to go” and I left without saying good-bye.  I remember sneaking out of this place and turning a white painted door knob.  The world was green and alive and I was flying again.  I got to a clearing in a grassy field with tall grass and then I woke up.

6:32 am

In this last dream there was a little boy showing me a bookshelf and a chair that could be moved to make a place to read.  There were blankets stacked on a small couch and before I woke up from this dream, he was on the floor hugging a small purple teddy bear that seemed familiar.  I remember saying something about sneaking it back home, like I had donated it to where the boy was.

Drawings from yesterday:

26 Nov 2017 Psalm 62 (different translations for the same message) and Drawings

Hello to you.  How are you doing thus far in your today?  I’m still waking up lol.  I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been getting drawn to exploring Bible scriptures with my chalk drawings.  Yesterday I pulled out a Bible my parents had given to me as a child, The New American Bible (NAB – Catholic) published by Thomas Nelson Inc. July 27, 1970.  Unlike my other Bibles, I haven’t done a lot of highlighting or writing in it but had highlighted Psalm 62 on page 595.

After reading it, I pulled out my NIV Study Bible and noticed how different the two translations were from each other.  The differences between the two translations are subtle,  but this is a primary example of how one message, when interpreted by different people, may not have the same meaning to a reader.  This thought transcends all sorts of the different ways we communicate to each other.  Just changing one word can change the entire intention behind the original message!  Human beings have a bad habit of changing words to suite their personal intentions.

When people hear there are over 50 different versions of the Bible in English alone, they often think to themselves, “No wonder there are many denominations each teaching different things, there are many different versions of the Bible.”.
I hope there is something for you here today even if you are like me, and not a Christian walking another path of spirituality.  I think I have been drawn back to the Bible as a way to try to understand myself and those around me here in the United States.

 PSALM 62*

Trust in God Alone

1For the leader; ‘al Jeduthun.* A psalm of David.

I

2My soul rests in God alone,a

from whom comes my salvation.

3God alone is my rock and salvation,

my fortress; I shall never fall.

4How long will you set yourself against a man?

You shall all be destroyed,

Like a sagging wall

or a tumbled down fence!

5Even highly placed people

plot to overthrow him.

They delight in lies;

they bless with their mouths,

but inwardly they curse.b

my refuge is with God.

* [62:1] ‘Al Jeduthun: apparently the Hebrew name for the melody.

* [62:10] On a balance they rise: precious objects were weighed by balancing two pans suspended from a beam. The lighter pan rises.

* [62:12] One thing…two things: parallelism of numbers for the sake of variation, a common device in Semitic poetry. One should not literally add up the numbers, cf. Am 1:3; Prv 6:1619; 30:15, 18, 21.

Psalm 62New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 62[a]

For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

Truly my soul finds rest in God;
    my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

How long will you assault me?
Would all of you throw me down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
Surely they intend to topple me
    from my lofty place;
    they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.[b]

Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
    my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God[c];
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
    for God is our refuge.

Surely the lowborn are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion
    or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.

11 One thing God has spoken,
    two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,
12     and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.”

25 Nov 2017 Reincarnation (dream), Mosque attack, Mysterious Booms and TransCanada major oil spill in Amherst South Dakota

Hello to you. It’s 6:50 am on this Saturday morning as I begin to write to you. I did a scan of the headlines and regretted it. My prayers go out to those affected by the attack on a Mosque in Egypt….death toll of like 300 plus right now. So sad! Another example, like the Sutherland TX shooting, even houses of worship aren’t off-limits to murderous intentions, revenge and hate. So tired of this crap!

http://time.com/5036386/egypt-mosque-attack/305 Killed in Egypt Mosque Attack State, Media Says – “(ISMAILIA, Egypt) — Egypt on Saturday said an attack on a mosque by militants in the country’s troubled region of northern Sinai has killed 305 worshippers, including 27 children, a dramatic increase in the death toll previously announced, which was 235.”

So I had a really strange dream. It was about a meeting. I was meeting someone but they weren’t fully ready yet….something about reincarnation. I remember telling someone this was my 3rd incarnation, may be my fourth. There was something about figures being stored in a box much like action figures would be. Ashes associated with these figures were stored in a separate, sometimes hidden place. I remember seeing small wooden boxes and a sliding wooden floor. There was a meeting but the man I ended up meeting wasn’t the one I was waiting for. He’s the one who told me the one I was waiting for wasn’t ready. There was a small blonde man with a pair of sewing scissors who threatened to gut me like a fish using the scissors. He was holding them near my nose and was going to cut but someone stopped him and then I woke up.

I can’t even begin to put together all the keys that unlocked this one – my dream factory just putting thoughts I’ve had and media I’ve either read or watched to a script!

In my look at the headlines I saw this about Mysterious Booms :

Mysterious Booms Are Being Recorded Across the Country

Video by CBS News

Loud booming noises have startled people across the United States, but it’s not clear what actually is happening or if the separate events are even related.

Residents in a number of states—Alabama, California, Idaho, Michigan and New Jersey—have reported hearing similar, mysterious sounds. Most recently, the noises also were heard in Colorado, CBS Denver reports.

The Monday sounds left CBS Denver’s meteorologist Chris Spears baffled. The only possible explanation Spears could conclude was that meteors from the Leonid meteor shower were bursting in the sky, creating the loud noises. However, Ron Hranac, an astronomy expert, struck down his theory saying that the meteors produced by the Leonids are way too small for this to happen, according to CBS Denver.

A day after the explosion-like noises, officials believed they had a better answer of what happened on Monday night, but they still aren’t certain.

An empty oil storage tank over-pressurized near the region where residents were calling in about the boom, Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) officials told The Denver Channel. Due to the pressure, the lid was blown from the tank, “potentially resulting in a loud noise,” officials explained.

Following the incident, the oil and gas production company went on to file an accident report, which stated “that a malfunction of a production vessel led to an over-pressurization of a new and empty … storage tank, which resulted in the lid of the tank being compromised,” The Denver Post reports.

Furthermore, the report notes that no one was hurt and there were no environmental impacts or property damage outside of the boundaries of their property. The COGCC is now looking into the event to further understand what happened.

“The wells at the site will be closed in until equipment repairs have been made and a more thorough review of the incident has been completed,” the report said, according to The Denver Post.

Although the cause of the Colorado noises may have been discovered, other noises from across the country remain a mystery. A recent boom heard in Alabama left the National Weather Service in Birmingham taking many guesses as to what happened.

“Re: loud boom heard: we do not see anything indicating large fire/smoke on radar or satellite; nothing on USGS indicating an earthquake,” the agency wrote on Twitter. “We don’t have an answer, and can only hypothesize with you. 1) sonic boom from aircraft; 2) meteorite w/ current Leonid shower?”

However, the November 14 incident has still yet to be solved.

It makes sense that the boom in Colorado was just a lid popping off of an over pressurized tank but what about the booms being heard elsewhere. What do I think? I think it could be our “house”, the earth is shifting. I know when our little house shifts and adjusts to changes in water levels in the soil or extreme heat or cold we start hearing loud pops and booms in our house. I wonder if the same thing is going on with the earth on a global scale?

This is plausible if you consider all the natural and destructive activities that are going on all over the globe beneath the surface of the Earth’s “skin” and in the various waterways. There are nuclear bombs being tested, fracking, oil drilling, mining and any number of other activities all of which would I would believe could cause the “floor” of our earth to shift. These shifts may not always cause earthquakes at least not right away. If it’s like in our house, it may sound like it’s happening over head but it’s just an echo of sound coming from the ground. I’m not a geologist or seismologist etc. but that’s just what comes to mind about this. Or….it’s the second coming or aliens. Yeah lol. We shall see.

24 Nov 2017 – I was tired after such a full visit with family. Not sure what’s behind this one.

TransCanada recovers 44,400 gallons of oil from Keystone pipeline spill site

(Reuters) – TransCanada Corp said on Friday it has recovered 44,400 gallons, or 1,057 barrels, of oil from the Keystone pipeline spill site at Amherst, South Dakota.

An aerial view shows the darkened ground of an oil spill which shut down the Keystone pipeline between Canada and the United States, located in an agricultural area near Amherst, South Dakota. REUTERS/Dronebase

The company had shut down its 590,000 barrel-per-day Keystone pipeline, which links Alberta’s oil sands to U.S. refineries, on Nov. 16 after a 5,000-barrel spill. It has not yet set an expected restart date for the pipeline, which is one of Canada’s main crude export pipelines.

Additional excavation will be conducted beyond Sunday for soil remediation purposes, the Calgary-based company said, adding, it has about 170 personnel round-the-clock on the site engaged in clean-up activities.

Preliminary inspections of the damaged section will be completed on site by both TransCanada and U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) staff, then sent to Washington, D.C., for an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board’s Metallurgical Laboratory, the company said.

“As a safety precaution, TransCanada sampled one residential water well yesterday at a location about 1.5 miles from the site to alleviate any concerns — all test results were normal,” TransCanada added.

*ONLY one water well was tested?!!! They need to be testing ALL of them!  This is exactly the sort of stuff the DAPL water protectors were worried about happening.  It’s happening.  It’s like drawing blood with a faulty needle.  The oil we take from the earth is essentially the Earth’s blood.

24 Nov 2017 Thanksgiving

Hello there!  I wasn’t sure I was going to post today but decided writing would clear my head before heading to bed early. Kyle is already out lol!  That darn time savings stuff and how much earlier it gets dark out doesn’t help either.  We are both very tired after the fantastic visit with family for Thanksgiving. Kyle’s brother Mark, his wife Tami and their three awesome kids drove down from Delaware to celebrate the holiday with all of us. The weather was perfect and I got to experience why Tim and Beth chose to live in more secluded place….the night sky! This morning, around 4:25 am or so, I was up to take the dogs out and saw a huge falling star streak across the sky! The stars are so bright where they live, little to no light pollution!

What was funny was before the star shot across the sky I remember thinking, “Are you there God? It’s me Jackie!” The answer was there before I even finished the thought in that streak of light. I just couldn’t get enough of that celestial tapestry they have at their place!  You just stand beneath it in awe, wonder and the thought, “How great thou art.”

It was fantastic to get caught up with everyone. Some of the things we talked about however, broke my heart and Kyle’s parents too.  You don’t ever want to hear your child, who is among three of their boys who have or are still serving in the military, tell you what we heard Mark has been going through.  He is serving in the Guard and is suffering from side-effects of the Anthrax vaccine. There is nothing he can do legally about it since he’s still employed  for another 2 years. They are having to pay a $500 co-pay for injections to treat abnormally low testosterone levels caused by the shot! His story fuels my strong feelings about military service.  His story is just another reason why I encourage young people considering military service to find another option!

Hearing him talk about what he’s been going through physically and emotionally with this brought me to tears and I felt very angry.  He’s pretty sure at some point he’s going to have to deal with cancer or some other illness from just the injections he’s getting now and they have three young children!

I found this post from back in 2009 that gives a little insight into what Mark and Veterans like him are going through:

From Colonel Dan

No weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq, but forced anthrax vaccinations are back anyway

Meryl Nass, M.D.

January 20, 2007

The bad news is that the Pentagon has begun giving mandatory anthrax vaccinations to soldiers, despite the lack of a formal announcement.

In late October 2006, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, William Winkenwerder, M.D. ( http://www.ha.osd.mil/ha/winkenwerder-bio.cfm ), announced that the mandatory anthrax vaccine program was to be reinstated in about two months, after new policies were issued. Although the policies are still pending, perhaps due to the fact that a new Secretary of Defense began his tenure after the announcement was made, the military has begun widespread vaccinations, often during boot camp. Previously, vaccinations were generally given to soldiers right before deploying, when they were more seasoned.

One may surmise that vaccinating soldiers with a controversial and dangerous vaccine as soon as they begin active duty was carefully calculated: the new recruits won’t have the opportunity to learn about all the problems associated with this vaccine in advance of their inoculations. By making no formal announcement of the resumption of vaccinations, the Defense Department forestalled public discussion of the program in the media, which would likely lead to undesirable publicity, when the military is already enmeshed in a very unpopular war and trying hard to “look good.”

Here are the facts about the vaccine:

1. FDA only approved the vaccine manufacturing plant in January 2002 under pressure from the administration, as a result of 9/11. The renovated plant was still not able to produce sterile vaccine! The compromise led to all vaccine batches being trucked to Washington State, to be bottled by another company with cleaner procedures.

2. The recipe and method for making vaccine did not change since 1998, according to the manufacturer’s testimony to the Institute of Medicine in 2001. Thus there is no reason to think this version of the vaccine is any better than the old version.

3. Unfortunately, I am still contacted several times a week by soldiers who received post-renovation anthrax vaccine, but became sick with the same illnesses that were caused by older vaccine lots. Although some lots of vaccine may be worse than others, please do not assume that any lots are completely safe. The vaccine component(s) causing the illnesses remains unknown.

4. Many studies of Gulf War veterans suggest anthrax vaccine caused or contributed to chronic illness in those veterans. The only studies that claim the vaccine is safe were performed by the Defense Department. Most of those studies were supervised by the same individual, Colonel John Grabenstein, who was the director of the military’s vaccine program. Colonel Grabenstein claimed that NO chronic illnesses resulted from anthrax vaccine. Yet on the anthrax vaccine package insert, FDA explains why those military studies had serious problems and cannot be relied upon.

5. Anthrax vaccine reactions are unfortunately very common. Most soldiers who have been in the military for long know several people who became ill and/or disabled shortly after receiving anthrax inoculations. I estimate that 10% – 30% of all soldiers who have been vaccinated have developed some medical problem as a result. Some are minor, some severe. Many airmen have lost the ability to continue flying (DNIF).

6. The most common side effects are new pains in muscles and joints. Short-term memory loss and periods of confusion are also common. Fatigue and problems sleeping usually accompany these symptoms. Some people develop inflammatory bowel disease, with severe, sometimes bloody diarrhea. Some develop other autoimmune disorders, like lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, and reactive arthritis. Rashes are common. There have been many cases of low testosterone. Thyroid disorders appear commonly.

You can download vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS) reports since 1998 from the FDA website to see what kinds of medical problems were experienced following anthrax inoculations, according to the nearly 5,000 soldiers who have reported them to FDA.

You can read about a study of the anthrax vaccine VAERS reports by independent researchers Mark and David Geier at:

http://www.military-biodefensevaccines.org/documents/GeierOct2006.ppt

7. Sometimes other vaccinations bring on recurrent symptoms. Sometimes odors begin to trigger symptoms. Some people improve over time; some stay the same; some worsen. A few have died. There is a suspicion that thyroid cancer may be caused by the vaccine, and breast or cervical cancers in females. Military statistics from the Defense Medical Surveillance System Database indicate many more hospitalizations for those problems after anthrax vaccination, compared to before vaccination. See the military’s own statistics at: http://books.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=10310&page=246

What can soldiers do when faced with the anthrax vaccine? It seems we are in a legal gray area now. Personally, I would ask to be given informed consent. I would ask for a copy of the vaccine label to review, which can be found at: http://www.fda.gov/CBER/label/biopava0131022LB.pdf

No one has been court-martialed for refusal recently, and ASD Winkenwerder did not say what punishments might be used against vaccine refusers last October, when he announced the program was to be restarted.

You are welcome to contact the Military Biodefense Vaccine Project (http://www.military-biodefensevaccines.org/) and contact@military-biodefensevaccines.org for a discussion of your personal situation with a knowledgeable volunteer.

On a more positive note….

The visit allowed me to get to spend some time with Mark and Tami’s three children Laci, Alex and Owen. This was very precious to me as we so seldom get to see each other and as most know, kids grow up so darn fast! The weather was fantastic and I had a hankering to do some chalk drawing but I had left mine at home. My mother-in-law Beth happened to have a couple pieces of chalk on hand, so their youngest, Owen and I went out at first and then Alex and Laci joined us. We traced shadows of their bikes and them lol. It was a lot of fun and they really did a good job!

We had a pizza party on Wednesday and traditional faire on Thursday. I was hoping Beth would go easy on herself. One of these years I’ll get her to do that! Her and Tim always make sure the holidays are full of great food and fun. We also had 6 dogs in addition to all the extra humans this year. There would have been more but Mark and Tami kenneled their dogs as they weren’t sure how their large dogs would do with a bunch of, as my Mom so aptly calls them, “yipper shitters.” LOL!

24 Nov 2017 – all the little dogs but Dale who is our shy one. Jack, Link, Henry, Spot and Suzie.

I decided I was finally ready for the camera Tim and Beth had offered me awhile ago.  It’s a Nikon Digital Camera D5100 with lenses you can change out. It’s very similar to the high quality camera’s I used to use a lot in my younger days when I was stationed in Europe. So now comes the learning curve and so far so good. I love the responsiveness of it compared to my poor old Canon I’ve used to death and the dying cell phone camera. So the quality of my pictures for posts will be better. I’m probably going to have to go through and cull pictures from older posts again soon….not much room left!

Anyhew…time to close. Hope those who celebrated the holiday had a great time and just finds anyone stumbling in here on purpose or by accident doing great! Keep your inner lamps lit!  Love and Hugs through the wires!

Great line from Stranger Things 2, episode 5 – Murray Bauman

“You’re being naïve Nancy! those people, they’re not wired like me and you okay? They don’t spend their lives trying to get a look at what’s behind the curtain. They like the curtain, and open the curtain behind that curtain. So the minute someone with an ounce of authority calls bullshit, everyone will nod their heads and say, See? Ha! I knew it was bullshit. That is if you even get their attention at all.

Reblog: ”My Religion Is Humanity” — Be Blogger (Official) and message from Warriors of the Rainbow Strange and Prophetic Dreams of the Indian Peoples by William Willoya and Vinson Brown

True Humanity

via ”My Religion Is Humanity” — Be Blogger (Official)

A very thought provoking post from Be Blogger (Official) here on WordPress:

Excerpt:

“It is a fact, Religions today no longer serve the purpose for which they came into existence. The very basic theme of each religion was to teach, how to love each other and bring us closer to ourselves and to God. Today the opposite is happening, Religions are not uniting but dividing us. Forget the differences from religion to religion, each now has so many divisions. The biggest problem Religions are bringing in is Fundamentalism and intolerance, giving birth to Fanatics, who are ready to destroy our freedom, just in the name of religion.”

This part really resonated with me.  It speaks to the messages in one of my favorite books, Warriors of the Rainbow – Strange and Prophetic Dreams of the Indian Peoples by William Willoya and Vinson Brown:

Page 7

“But we have learned the white man’s religion,” protested the man.  “There is much good in his religion.”

“there is much good in his religion, it is true.  But most white men use their religion as a child uses a toy.  when the white man thinks it is useful to him, he remembers it, but when it interferes with his pleasure, he forgets it. In the old days we Indians helped each other in trouble; even the weakest were helped; we really lived our religion.  Then the white men came with ambitions to change the ways of the Indians.  When they brought love, as some few did, this was good, but when they brought the breaking up of our people into little religions, and laughed at our religion, this was bad.  Jesus never taught these little things that divide the white men and divide the Indians who listen to them.  His love was too big for such small things.  Let the white men learn again the truths of their own religion and no longer will they build walls between themselves and between other people of the world.”

22 Nov 2017 – We offered to bring cake to our Thanksgiving family gathering. While it was baking, Kyle and I were in a heated talk about world affairs. Kyle surprised me by doing something I’ve talked about here before that I learned in Quantum Touch classes. He took a toothpick and carved Love into the cake lol! Made me burst into “awesome” tears….in awe of my beautiful husband. It’s important to remember, and so easy to forget, that everything we say, make, think and do is energy and it’s important to make sure you put love energy into everything. Especially your food!

Luke 12:35-40New International Version (NIV)

Watchfulness

35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. 39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

21 Nov 2017 Jackie Wygant faux Alexandrite glue gun ring made today Alvarado TX

21 Nov 2017 – Glue gun ring #2 set with a faux Alexandrite stone that was in a silver ring that got ruined.

Hello to you.  How are you in your today?  It’s 3:07pm here as I begin to write to you.  Today was changing sheets on the bed, doing laundry, getting groceries and I mostly spent time outside drawing.   I got an adorable picture of Link with his tongue sticking out at me.  Sent my Aunt Ruth a picture of me outside (before coloring my hair, I caved to a bit of vanity – not ready to go gray yet!) to wish her Happy birthday today.  Wanted her to see a smile with my texted sentiments of loving and missing her on her special day!

I read the letter Mom wrote to me this morning.  These last lines of the letter had me crying for quite a few minutes it touched me so much, “Well, I really don’t have much to write about – you understand don’t you! Anyway I like to let you know that we are thinking of you.”  Some times that is the reason I keep up with this blog!  Another Thanksgiving passes with us passing these sentiments across the miles…..where is my transporter lol?!  Home! Now! We were going to go last year, but “me” happened and we had to cancel.  I also made another glue gun ring for my faux Alexandrite stone I really like.

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with Kyle’s family.  I’m so proud of his Mom as she took my advice about trying something besides the traditional meal….make it a little easier on her.  We are doing a pizza party like my friend Les does with her family for the holiday.   I can remember Les telling me about how one time they actually had authentic Chicago style pizza’s flown in lol.  It’s important to find your own way to celebrate special occasions and not get stuck in traditions that may not suite who you are anymore.

As a kid and young woman, I can remember part of celebrating Thanksgiving involved going to the Mall for Black Friday sales.  Doing that isn’t part of my life anymore.  I would much rather spend time with people I love than go shopping for more shite nobody needs!  Some people really enjoy the thrill of the hunt for sales and all that – good for them.  Not my thing.  I really don’t enjoy shopping these days.

Anyhew — love, hugs and best wishes through the wires to you!
