1 Sept 2017 Following your instincts

Hello to you.  It’s 10:46 am on this Friday morning.  How are you?  I hope this finds you well wherever and whenever you are.  Yesterday I had an appointment in Arlington and when we were walking in to the building, I noticed a water fountain like I loved visiting when I lived in Florida.  I mentioned it to Kyle and we went on in to the appointment.  Well when we came out, I found myself curious about the park the water fountain was in and suggested to Kyle we go and check it out.  I wanted to be naughty and cross the road when we had the chance and not at an official cross-walk…aka “jay-walk.”  Kyle was afraid with all the cops we had seen out and about that we’d be the people to get caught and get a ticket for the minor offense lol.  So we walked down to the light with a cross-walk and as we were walking I looked down at the busy road beside us and saw a bunch of loose nails!  If we hadn’t picked them up, someone’s day would have been seriously ruined!

This is what happens when you follow your instincts.  When you let go of expectations and just go with the flow.  Kyle and I talked about how complicated it was to prevent a random someone from getting a flat tire.  So many seemingly meaningless decisions that when put together got us to this seemingly random objective.  If we hadn’t chosen to go and see the park, who, if anyone would have taken the nails off the road?  There is a whole series of alternate dimensions created for you!

Why did I pick up the nails?  Because I would want someone to do that for me.  This is how I try to live.

Beautiful message Kyle found that was carved into the concrete at the park:

“When one tugs at one single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world – John Muir”
