I forgot to include this in my previous post.  I made this by first drawing a sketch of our Pecan tree and then I started drawing the boxes.   Imagine if each of these boxes was a fragment of a mirror like a disco ball?  Pretty kewl!!  It was incredibly therapeutic for me to work on this – great focusing exercise.   The feeling doing this gave me was similar to when I crochet or knit.  You just get into the “flow” of it.

While this is not an original idea to create images, really just a variation of pointillism or even cubism, what I made IS original.  Anything made by one’s own hand is one of a kind!  Hand-made original creations can only be copied, reprinted, imitated but never re-created.   I think I am going to explore this technique for future drawings.

Pointillism

Pointillism
Pointillism /ˈpɔɪntᵻlɪzəm/ is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism. The term “Pointillism” was first coined by art critics in the late 1880s to ridicule the works of these artists, and is now used without its earlier mocking connotation.

  1. that is very creative… I love things created from other things… that’s something we can use to find balance back when we look at it and count the boxes or look close at the different shapes of this boxes :o)
