27 Feb 2017 Finding inspiration for art in catalogs (Signals) and Light in the Darkness quotes (Edward Teller and E.M Forster)

Good evening family.  I had a long rest this afternoon so I’m not ready for bed just yet so it’s a good time to write!  How was your day?  Mine was pretty uneventful but that’s fine with me!  It seems like whenever I start wishing for excitement in my life,  I get the kind nobody wants lol.  So no thank you to drama!  LOL.  There was a time, when I was young and youthful that I literally thrived on having drama in my life.  If it wasn’t there, I found a way to manifest it.  Well as I’ve gotten older I realize that drama just takes too much energy to keep going!  Yes, the one good thing about getting older is your often too pooped to pop off about stupid stuff anymore!  Just not worth it!

I did a couple of chalk drawings today.  One I had started yesterday.  I did it from memory and today I did some finishing touches on it.  It was an image of a Rainbow Prism Crystal Candleholder from a Signals catalog we got around Christmas time.  For some reason the image just stuck in my head ever since I saw it and yesterday I decided I wanted to try and draw it.! We will call it an “impressionistic rendering” LOL….my spirit was in it!  The other drawing is one of the circle patterns, “Flower of Lifeish.”  It’s just so soothing to sit and put them together.  Since I’m not using a compass but just a round plastic pot it’s not perfect but I’m ok with that!  It’s more “me” that way 🙂

The other catalog that inspires me artistically is the Victorian Trading Company catalog.  There are just so many pretty things in it that I will never own but just love to look at.  When we first moved here, one of the houses we could afford was an old house that the previous owner has completely decorated in a Victorian theme.  We didn’t buy the house because we didn’t feel we could do it the same justice of the current owner….it was amazing.  Like walking back in time.   Anyhew, catalogs can be more than just for looking at while your on the toilet!  LOL.

These are a couple I thought were especially beautiful:

“When you get to the end of all the light you know and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.” ― Edward Teller

“We cast a shadow on something wherever we stand, and it is no good moving from place to place to save things; because the shadow always follows. Choose a place where you won’t do harm – yes, choose a place where you won’t do very much harm, and stand in it for all you are worth, facing the sunshine.” ― E.M. Forster, A Room with a View

27 Feb 2017 Drawing, flowers, GANS, The Oscars (thank you Hollywood) and Getting Unstuck: The Art of Possibility (Daily Good)

Good morning family, how are you doing there in your life today? I hope you are well. I’m a little groggy yet. We stayed up and actually watched the entire Oscars broadcast for the first time in a really long time and enjoyed it. We did make a mistake though, we turned off the t.v. too soon lol! We saw the announcement for La La Land winning best picture and figured it was over but it wasn’t! I was delighted to find out this morning that Moonlight won best picture after all. Congratulations to all the nominees and thank you Hollywood for the positive and loving messages you wove into the show about unity of our world and its people. We must all lead by our example and so many people look to the earthly stars for that example! I wanted to compliment the set designers for the show, they did a fantastic job….loved the sparkling crystals!

Hope you all have a lovely day and know you are AWESOME SAUCE!

Getting Unstuck: The Art of Possibility

Feb 27, 2017— We begin with grand plans for accomplishing a task, and too often end in frustration with having nothing done. What if we changed our view and looked at a rut as an opportunity instead of a problem? Rosamund Stone Zander, the author of “Getting Unstuck,” helps us see the inner wisdom we all have. On her journey as a writer, slowing down is the key that opened a surge in creativity. She suggests that it is our fear of not being productive that actually gets us stuck. Having faith in the authentic voice inside of ourselves is the key to getting unstuck. She shares her own experience of relaxing the definitions given to “problems” and invites us to open up to problems as they teach us what we need so that we can move into a more creative way of living. 26 Feb 2017 Problems with owning a home built on expansive clay soil, outdoor chalk drawings, Three Ways to Keep Technology From Ruining Your Relationships (Daily Good Christine Carter)

Good morning family, how are you doing?  It’s 9:13 am as I write to you this increasingly cloudy Sunday morning.  May be it will rain, we could use more water here for as I write to you, I just heard another loud pop from the ceiling cracking in our bedroom lol.

Our house is built on a slab directly atop expansive clay soil.  When this kind of soil dries out it expands creating deep cracks and fissures.  Our house, not built with expensive piers or a deep poured foundation with flexible rebarb reinforcements, gets twisted like a pretzel every time we go through a dry spell.  The way most people combat this problem is having sprinkler systems installed around the perimeters of the house or soaker hoses set up.  The only problem with this, city water is so expensive!   We’ve spent a lot of money on interior repairs and exterior repairs (had 13 piers put in under our existing foundation) that get undone just about as soon as they are done because of this condition.  So fair warning to those looking to buy homes that are built on soil like here in North Texas, do your homework first!

http://www.foundation-repair-guide.com/expansive-soil.html – (see link for all info if you are interested)

Getting Control of Expansive Soil

Expansive soil, also called shrink-swell soil, is a very common cause of foundation problems. Depending upon the supply of moisture in the ground, shrink-swell soils will experience changes in volume of up to thirty percent or more. Foundation soils which are expansive will “heave” and can cause lifting of a building or other structure during periods of high moisture. Conversely during periods of falling soil moisture, expansive soil will “collapse” and can result in building settlement. Either way, damage can be extensive.

So I spend a lot of time outside so I don’t focus on this stuff too much lol.  It’s just frustrating for us to spend money that feels like we own a swimming pool or a boat instead of a house.  When we get some money together we will be looking for someone to do the exterior woodwork of the house with hopes that will be a fix that holds up for more than a couple of months!  These are the kinds of things they don’t figure in when they tell you that you qualify to buy a used house.  This is probably why so many people choose to buy new ones if they can afford it.

Anyhew….back to brevity.  Did a lot of chalk drawings outside yesterday and just enjoyed the beautiful day with clear blue skies.  Hope you have a lovely rest of whatever day it is for you as you visit.  Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate it!

Three Ways to Keep Technology from Ruining Your Relationships

Jan 8, 2017— We all know there’s nothing like a warm smile, loving hug, sympathetic eyes, shared laughter, or long talks. These are the things that make us human and happy, and they are best done in person. Yet sometimes we are too busy to get together. Enter technology, with promises of improving relationships. However tempting, technology needs to be limited. While Facebook, Instagram, and e-mail give us the ability to reach and learn about more people, the parts about the experience that are lacking — vulnerability and intimacy — are the ones that bring us closer. Similarly, smartphones make us available 24/7, but this can mean constant interruptions. These can cause tiny tears in the fabric of our relationships that can eventually add up to real damage to happiness. In this article, learn three ways to prevent the damage that technology can do to our real-life experiences.

25 Feb 2017 I want my words to be Heirloom quality seeds (choosing your Words more carefully) and Drawings

Good morning family, it’s 9:12 am on this beautiful Saturday morning as I write to you from here in North Texas.  I hope that wherever and whenever you are right now, that you are doing well in mind, body and spirit.  I hope you love and are loved in a meaningful way that fulfills you in this life.

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of “art” if that’s what you want to call it….”personal expression.”  I know that it’s not ground-breaking stuff but it is proving very helpful to me in these times.  For the past few months I’ve been struggling to stay in a positive place.  I’m getting  to the point I don’t even want to write any more, just draw pictures….retreat into a world of colors and shapes.

Words seem more like ammunition to me now than a useful tool.  Some days it feels like everything I need to say has already been said and it just doesn’t matter anymore because my words are just another part of the wall of text that is this world.  It seems like so many people are “talking” but so few are really reading and listening…actually processing the words of this world.  The only thing people seem to really have time for is a flash of something and then they are on to the next thing…..an entire world of people with Attention Deficit Disorder…..by design.

So I am starting to be more careful about the Words I do use these days.  Perhaps at last brevity has found me!

I want my words to be Heirloom quality seeds you can plant and grow beautiful flowers for now and for future generations.”

My sister left me with so many things, and I’m going to leave you now with just one of them. You don’t have to wait for a life-or-death situation to clean up the relationships that matter to you, to offer the marrow of your soul and to seek it in another. We can all do this. We can be like a new kind of first responder, like the one to take the first courageous step toward the other, and to do something or try to do something other than rejection or attack. We can do this with our siblings and our mates and our friends and our colleagues. We can do this with the disconnection and the discord all around us. We can do this for the soul of the world.

24 Feb 2017 Dreams (Flying, Eddie Murphy), GANS (Keshe Foundation) pain relief, Outdoor chalk drawings and sketch before bed

Good morning family!  It’s Friday at 8:26 am as I write to you from here.  Hope you are well as you visit me here today!  I’m feeling better this morning.  Last night I slept with the vials of Keshe Foundation inspired GANS and double copper coils last night on my abdomen area and not only had a lot of really cool dreams, I had pain relief.   It’s amazing that a plastic pill bottle (irony not wasted on me there) filled with the equivalent to sediment on the bottom of the ocean with a double coil of copper wire can relieve pain.  It also helps me with sinus congestion.  Is it a placebo effect?  Could be,  but if it works for me, who cares lol.  If it works for me, it could work for other people, so I share my experiences.

I have two vials like this and once I empty another bottle I'm going to make up another one. Got some new GANS brewing.

I have two vials like this and once I empty another bottle I’m going to make up another one. Got some new GANS brewing.

I had many dreams but a couple stood out – one was of falling asleep and realizing I had flown way up into the clouds.  I was sitting in an inner tube like circle and after I realized where I was, I came down really quick.  Well people had seen what had happened and wanted to know how I did it.   Next thing I remember I lifted my arms up and flew off, I heard them say, “There she goes again!”  I know how to fly in my dreams but not in the waking world LOL — there is that gravity thing we got going on!  This dream is probably a nice way of illustrating to me what my mental highs and lows are like to me versus other people watching me.  For me it’s a magical experience of being able to do anything, even fly up to the clouds, for other people it’s something to worry about!

The other dream was about a sketch with a circle in parenthesis hearing someone say, “Her name is O.”  Made me think of OM, my favorite toning sound.

Yesterday afternoon I dreamt about Eddie Murphy!  It was a brief dream but all I remember was sitting with him watching a movie he was in and telling him it was good and giving him a high five.  He had a big smile like from the days I remember him best, the “Delirious” times.   The video I’ve shared here has some foul language but those of you who visit regularly and or know me,  I swear too.

I did a lot of outdoor chalk drawing yesterday…experimenting with, gasp, SQUARES!  A new shape besides circles!  Shocking I know!  I told Kyle this morning sometimes I feel like one of those kids who draws a bunch of really crazy pictures in crayon and runs to their Mom yelling “See, See what I did?!”  Mom looks at the picture and dutifully smiles at said child and finds the last remaining magnet to pin it on the fridge next the other similar drawings already hanging up….”That’s nice dear…”  Those parents out there with kids know what I’m talking about LOL.

23 Feb 2017 Chalkboard drawing (Evenstar), Trees (Joyce Kilmer poem) and House of Healing (Lord of the Rings music)

Good morning family, how are you doing from where, what and when you visit me here now?  It’s 11:17 am as I start to write to you.  It’s another beautiful day here in North Texas for which I am very grateful.  The sky is clear and blue from horizon to horizon and springs things are in full swing all around.  We woke this morning to the loud and urgent cries of song birds doing their “hey baby, let’s build a nest and make some eggs” songs lol.  I love it; I absolutely adore the birds we have here.

So I took my chalkboard out back to see what would come forth.  I have used up much of the usable drawing surfaces around the house and so until it rains again, the chalkboard it is!

I was looking for poems about plants and found this one by Joyce Kilmer and realized I recognized it, just a long time since I saw it last.  I agree with his sentiments!  Everything important I’ve learned about the cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth I’ve seen living in the company of trees.  Each tree we take for granted is a complete “world” unto itself….billions of dimensions layered in with each of ours.

I send my very best to you through these endless wires and on the winds that sustain us all!  Be kind!

Mother and Father are resilient and even when you think all hope is lost....new growth will appear!

Mother and Father are resilient and even when you think all hope is lost….new growth will appear!

Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,

And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,

But only God can make a tree.

Joyce Kilmer (born as Alfred Joyce Kilmer; December 6, 1886 – July 30, 1918) was an American writer and poet mainly remembered for a short poem titled “Trees” (1913), which was published in the collection Trees and Other Poems in 1914. Though a prolific poet whose works celebrated the common beauty of the natural world as well as his Roman Catholic religious faith, Kilmer was also a journalist, literary critic, lecturer, and editor. While most of his works are largely unknown, a select few of his poems remain popular and are published frequently in anthologies. Several critics—including both Kilmer’s contemporaries and modern scholars—have disparaged Kilmer’s work as being too simple and overly sentimental, and suggested that his style was far too traditional, even archaic.[1] Many writers, including notably Ogden Nash, have parodied Kilmer’s work and style—as attested by the many parodies of “Trees”.

At the time of his deployment to Europe during World War I, Kilmer was considered the leading American Roman Catholic poet and lecturer of his generation, whom critics often compared to British contemporaries G. K. Chesterton (1874–1936) and Hilaire Belloc (1870–1953).[2]:p.27[3][4] He enlisted in the New York National Guard and was deployed to France with the 69th Infantry Regiment (the famous “Fighting 69th”) in 1917. He was killed by a sniper’s bullet at the Second Battle of the Marne in 1918 at the age of 31. He was married to Aline Murray, also an accomplished poet and author, with whom he had five children.

22 Feb 2017 Managing pain without drugs, gratitude and fun with chalk

Good afternoon family!  How are you doing there?  I’m doing better than I was this morning.  Feels like I’m having what I call a “phantom cycle” and my lower abdomen has been miserable up until  now lol.  We don’t keep pain medication in the house anymore.  I try to use holistic/natural techniques first and resort to other “traditional” methods as a last resort.   I have learned that when I am feeling pain mentally/spiritually (inside stuff)  it will manifest in my physical body.  I use an approach to dealing with my physically manifested problems that is being used in integrated medicine.  I start with the inside first and work my way out!  An acronym I learned in AA was “HALT” (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired) to help me do this.  It’s a tool to help me figure out why I might be feeling a certain way.

This said, my physical pain is probably a combination of factors and one of them is one I can do absolutely nothing about and that’s just getting older LOL!  My body is changing and it’s taking some adapting on my part both mentally and physically…..heavy on the mental part.  I am not happy my physical body doesn’t recognize the young woman, sometimes child, alive and well in this body!  Some days are so fluid and I feel like I’m perfectly synched between my inside and outside self and then there are days like today!  Kyle was worrying about me and as soon as I told him I felt like this was an evil ovary phantom cycle, he was like “OOOOH okay!”

To manage the pain I was feeling today I did a couple of things.  I rubbed some Peppermint essential oil on the parts of my abdomen which are achy and that helped.  Then I went outside and took off my shoes and socks.  It’s really clear and sunny today and time in the sun tends to help me with most anything I’ve got going on.  I set up my pieces of orgonite in a circle and just stood in that space for awhile and that helped.  Something about having direct contact with the damp earth really helps me especially with inflammation.  Lastly I brought out my cot and laid in the middle of the orgonite circle holding my Keshe Foundation inspired copper healing tool I made and put the mostly bees wax orgonite piece on my head.   I know it probably sounds weird, but it works for me.

Another way I get help for this kind of pain is from my husband!  Making love and the big “O” do wonders for managing pain too!  I knew it from my own personal experience and felt validated after reading this book by Dr. Wilhelm Reich on the subject: https://www.amazon.com/Function-WILHELM-translated-CARFAGNO-VINCENT/dp/0285649701/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1487796486&sr=8-3-fkmr1&keywords=Function+of+the+Orgasm+Dr.+Wilhelm+Reich

I share this for those women out there who may be going through a similar “phase of life” and for the men married to women who are going through this but aren’t talking to them about it!  Hope this is helpful to you somehow!

After all this I finally felt better and did some outside chalk drawing.    Nothing spectacular but it’s a very absorbing thing to do and it allows me to be outside.  When I sit outside and draw like this, it really allows me to see and connect with the beings I’m sharing my home with.  There are so many “eyes of God” bearing witness to my existence and what I’m doing….reporting in to the “management” lol.  If you think about it, every living creature on the planet is a part of the one God/Source/Universe!  For example, today a tiny little spider decided it liked crawling around on a green chalk in the new box….may be they were giving me the managements preference for the next color to use in my drawing lol.

There is something magical about watching thousands of tiny baby spiders clinging to a lone thread of prismatic shine, traversing countless dimensions to find new homes.

Much love to you all today!

21 Feb 2017 New outdoor chalk (Drawings), Dog for Dog Pet food, and song Sun and Stars (Really Slow Motion)

Good afternoon family, how are you?!  Today has been a spectacularly beautiful day – birds singing and doing “spring things” like mating on the wires of a cell tower (yes, this morning  I actually saw a hawk or falcon mating with another one on the cell tower behind our house lol), black, tan, yellow and blue butterflies frantically trying to retrieve nectar from tiny purple flowers…..the sky that perfect blue and the sun warm and comforting on my back.  Things are doing things!  So grateful for so much beauty today.

So Kyle went out and did some errands today and in the process came home with a box of 48 new Crayola outdoor chalks for me!  They are my birthday present from my Aunt Ruth!  She wanted me to buy more supplies for my arts and crafts!  So I set about using them.  Unfortunately the boxes only come with one black colored chalk and I really like to use that color!  It helps bring definition to the shapes and stuff I’m doing.  I looked online and they don’t seem to sell just black chalk by itself so I’m having to go easy on using it lol.

Kyle did something else in honor of my birthday, he took food and supplies to our local animal shelter.  The food we donated is a dog food I found out about that for every bag of food you buy, they give a bag to a shelter: https://www.dogfordog.com/

20 Feb 2017 Evening Drawing

Hello family.  Just a short post before Kyle and I retire for the day.  I haven’t been feeling 100 percent today so I had to honor my body and rest.  As each year passes I understand my Grandparents and those older than me more and more!  Inside I am enthusiastically in millions of different places at once but in reality I’m just stepping out the door to admire the flowers in our backyard with Link and Spot in toe bitching about my back aching the whole way lol.

Tonight I sat down with my sketchpad under my sun lamp next to Link and Spot.  Gradually a lovely woman of the “wispy nature” decided to peer out at me from another dimension.  I tried to scan the image but I guess the lines were too fine for the scanner to read them – hence the photo!  Sorry!  I was going to go over the drawing with my fine tip pen but I decided against it.  Sometimes the fine lines and details of a portrait get lost in the translation from pencil to pen!

I was looking for a poem or a phrase to go along with this drawing and I ended up finding a fellow WordPress blogger’s page I hadn’t seen before.  This phrase from their post from May of last year resonated –  I thought it was beautiful:

She becomes like an open doorway from the Absolute down to creation. Such a human being becomes a link of love between the worlds.

20 Feb 2017 Relationship between Dandelions and the Bees (photos),my Drawings this weekend and Reverse Psychology (Donald Trump’s Presidency)

Good morning family!  It’s Monday, 7:36 am as I start to write to you.  It’s still sprinkling out.  We woke up around 1:30 am or so to some gentle thunder and lightning. We were mainly woken up because Link was yelling at Spot as she tried to sneak into the bed for comfort.  He’s so grumpy in the bed LOL!

So this weekend was really relaxing and seems to have gone by so quickly.  Kyle and I are noticing that ever since he got the call to work the upcoming outage that our days seem to be going by so much faster!

On Saturday we actually had some sunshine and the bees were out in force in our backyard enjoying the spring dandelions and other wild flowers.  I have refrained from cutting the lawn because I know these flowers are very important food sources now until spring officially comes.  On the morning dog walk yesterday I noticed trees are starting to bud already…..early spring?  So I took some pictures and admittedly they aren’t great but I wanted to show you the relationship between what I consider to be one of the most important life forms on this planet and a plant that even I considered a “weed” for so many years until I learned the truth.

Much love, light and hope to you today.  I am remaining focused on what I want to see in this world.

I must say that with Mr. Trump pushing so hard in directions that seem literally insane to go, he may be turning out to be the exact catalyst we’ve needed to restore balance in this country.  What in the world do I mean by that?!  What comes to my mind is the term, “reverse psychology.”  Without  his probably even being conscious of it, the more “crazy” he goes, the more sane we want to become lol.  What he and many of those serving around him are saying, doing and proposing is so far out there that those of us who are awake and actually paying attention are able to see the truth and what is actually sensible more clearly.  This being in most cases, the exact polar opposite of his intentions!

Reverse psychology

Reverse psychology is a technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested.

While many people think of the dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) as a pesky weed, it is chock full of vitamins A, B, C, and D, as well as minerals, such as iron, potassium, and zinc. Dandelion leaves are used to add flavor to salads, sandwiches, and teas. The roots are used in some coffee substitutes, and the flowers are used to make wines.

In the past, dandelion roots and leaves were used to treat liver problems. Native Americans also boiled dandelion in water and took it to treat kidney disease, swelling, skin problems, heartburn, and upset stomach. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), dandelion has been used to treat stomach problems, appendicitis, and breast problems, such as inflammation or lack of milk flow. In Europe, dandelion was used in remedies for fever, boils, eye problems, diabetes, and diarrhea.

So far, there have not been any quality scientific studies on dandelion. Today, the roots are mainly used to stimulate the appetite, and for liver and gallbladder problems. Dandelion leaves are used as a diuretic to help the body get rid of too much fluid.

Speaking from Germany, where he was attending the Munich Security Conference, McCain said that without a free press, “I am afraid that we would lose so much of our individual liberties over time. That’s how dictators get started.”

McCain clarified that he wasn’t referring to the president as a dictator, but that attacks on journalists who are questioning those in power are usually a hallmark of autocratic governments.
