Hello family. How are you doing today? I’m working on an attitude adjustment. If I am unhappy today, I have only myself to blame.
Everything in moderation, including moderation.
The sun shines down, and its image reflects a thousand different pots filled with water. The reflections are many, but they are each reflecting the same sun. Similarly, when we come to know who we truly are, we will see ourselves in all people.
So last night I had a very vivid dream that was one of the reasons I got up in the night. When I have a dream like this I go and write it down so I don’t forget it. The key that unlocked this dream came from reading the blog of one of my WordPress friends, Dymoon yesterday. On the 18th she wrote about finding someone’s journal and she was planning to repurpose it like she does with other books she buys at used bookstores.
Reading about her discovery really affected me and I found myself feeling sad for the person the book had belonged to. What happened to this persons journal is exactly the sort of thing I’m worried about happening to my journals and writings.
So my dream went like this. I can remember seeing a small brown book laying in the street. At first I didn’t recognize it but at closer examination I realized it was my very first journal! What was it doing out in the middle of the road?! I picked it up and opened it and the pages started to act like the pictures do in Harry Potter. The words and pictures became animated. I was surprised to see pictures of me naked! I can remember being overcome with worry about who else had picked my journal up and read it while it lay there on the street! Who else had seen it’s contents?!
Kyle assures me that my journals will not end up in a Half Price Books lol!
Here is an except from Dymoon’s blog that unlocked this dream:
When I got in, the little book fell to the floor, I bent down to retrieve it and saw handwriting in it. I glanced at the writing and realized that it was someone’s journal. The pages were highlighted, small pencil notations were on almost every second page. Someone had read and re read the book from cover to cover. In the back I saw that this particular book was one obtained at a conference on the theme of the book. There was a page with the 12 steps (12 step program) and a few other pages, with goals and objectives etc.
Needless to say, it was like looking into someone’s private, very private thoughts. The person had even identified the book, in case of loss, name and address labels were prominent on both back and front covers. The book was not current. I wondered how it had come to be in a pile of books being given away, left out as garbage at a thrift shop.
Feeling nostalgic this morning. When I was in Jr. High School I lived and breathed me some Adam and the Ants! Listening to his music helped me feel less powerless and I need to feel that today.

I found this article interesting and I share Jack Ma’s sentiments: no matter how good your strategy is you’re supposed to spend money on your own people,”
“At the same time, the US spent a lot of money on foreign conflicts. “In the past 30 years, America had 13 wars spending $14.2 trillion … no matter how good your strategy is you’re supposed to spend money on your own people,” Ma said. “The money goes to Wall Street. Then what happened? Year 2008 wiped out $19.2 trillion in US income … What if the money was spent on the Midwest of the United States?”
—”The other countries steal jobs from you guys — that is your strategy. You did not distribute the money in the proper way.”
“—”Elsewhere during his talk, Ma said his favourite film was “Forrest Gump” because he saw something of Alibaba in Gump’s shrimp boat. Ma quoted Gump as saying “Nobody makes money catching whales — people make money catching shrimps.”
“””That’s how we make money” at Alibaba, he said.
