Good morning to you, I hope this finds you well as you can be this day! Yesterday I attempted to take some pictures of the lovely full moon but I am woefully inept with the cell phone camera lol. There are limitations to it and I am finding myself tempted to return to using my old Canon lol. I saw with my eyes a pale moon and thousands of birds flying towards it last night while the dogs and I were out back yesterday evening. I attempted to capture said image with the cell phone camera and well….the image speaks for itself lol. Lots of little black dots headed towards a pale circle LOL! I have a photographer’s eye but do not have the right tool to capture what my eyes see just yet.
I have officially run out of picture room on my page so I’m going to have to do some culling today! I apologize in advance if something disappears you didn’t want to see go. I will try and leave as much as I can. Kind of bummer to be paying for a WordPress domain name but not getting an unlimited picture room to go with it unless you pay for a premium service! Can’t afford the premium service right now…it is what it is!
I was looking for songs with the moon as the theme and there is of course my favorite, Foreigner 4’s Girl on the Moon:
and I also found this little gem from 1937:
Decca Records 62103 – Ruth Etting – A Message From The Man In The Moon 1937 Words and Music by Gus Kahn, Walter Jurmann, and Bronislaw Kaper. Recorded by Ruth Etting on April 5, 1937 in NYC.
The man in the moon looked into my window
And found me alone and blue
The man in the moon told me something and told me to tell it to you.
I’ve got a message from The Man In The Moon for you
He said to tell you there’s a bench in the park for two,
I know you should be sleeping and I’m keeping you awake
But I’m just delivering a message he told me to take
I’ve got a message saying love will be ’round to call and then
If we don’t meet him he may never be ’round to call again;
The evening found me lonely and I thought you might be lonely too
So I brought a message from The Man In The Moon for you.
The spin of the World Prayers wheel brought forth a haunting voice from the past and simple wisdom about how to prevent such things from reaccuring!
I believe in the sun though it is late in rising. I believe in love though it is absent. I believe in God though He is silent.
