9 Jan 2017 Afternoon drawing “Mad Eye in our Skies” and Eye in the Sky (Alan Parsons Project)

Hello to you this blustery and windy afternoon as I write to your from here in North Texas!  The moon is almost full and being a lunar type of being,  I am finding my energy and creativity window more open.  What came to me was the cloud I saw yesterday that was shaped like a feather dancing in the wind and then it stretched out, blown by the high winds, like it was reaching across the sky.  The image of the feather cloud became attached to a sort of “mad eye” in space, a satellite with intelligence,  being aided and abetted by outside forces both human and other.   We’ve been watching a lot of Dr. Who lately, so I’ll blame my imaginations on that lol!  This Alan Parsons Project song, Eye in the Sky, seemed to fit perfectly with this train of thought.

The concept behind this album was related to belief systems, whether they be religious beliefs, political beliefs or belief in luck (as in gambling). Generally the concept is related to the universal idea that there is someone looking down on us all. The expression is also used in military and surveillance contexts.

Eye in the Sky

Don’t think sorry’s easily said
Don’t try turning tables instead
You’ve taken lots of Chances before
But I’m not gonna give anymore
Don’t ask me
That’s how it goes
Cause part of me knows what you’re thinkin’

Don’t say words you’re gonna regret
Don’t let the fire rush to your head
I’ve heard the accusation before
And I ain’t gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your Eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don’t need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind, I can read your mind
I can read your mind, I can read your mind

Don’t leave false illusions behind
Don’t Cry cause I ain’t changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I ain’t gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the Signs are deceiving

  1. your drawing is great… I often ponder about this topic… and when I do something really stupid I often feel shame when I imagine a spy-satellite would record that… I know that’s crazy… but who knows?
