Hello to you! It’s Saturday. It’s cloudy here this morning and we are hoping for may be a splash or two of rain….we really need it again. Nothing so far!
Going to go “lighter” on you today than the past couple of days. I know there has been a lot of serious stuff…unpleasantries. A few of you may have read the posts and many probably skimmed…it’s ok. I’m planting seeds and if even one person reads what I write, that one person sometimes only being me, that’s ok! Seed planted! I started a list yesterday that I am going to expand on that is going to be part of my daily prayer/meditation….all the corporations and companies that in the past I have loathed for how it seems they profit from suffering instead of doing all they can to stop it. What came to me, and it has before but it’s so hard to “stick to it”, is something that goes back to words from a person in a book a lot of people have at their bedside…a book in a lot of hotel room drawers…
Matthew 22:36-40New International Version (NIV)
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
I’ve told you before that my flag flies under no one particular religion or walk of faith…no label (we named our Rift Guild “A Life Without Labels” even!) but there are “golden nuggets” to be found in all walks of positive faith. I was raised with the Bible so I go there a lot more than say if I was born in Jerusalem, India, or China. Of all the people in the Christian Bible, Jesus is my favorite. I wish more people that claim to worship him and follow his teachings truly did by their actions. There seems to be a lot of improv that has gone on through the centuries since his life and death in this regard.
Anyhew….I think something that I as a person and perhaps we as a world need to set as a goal….loving our enemies as we love ourselves….we have a great deal of work to do on both accounts!!! There are far too many people in this world that have been taught from early on they were not loveable and henceforth….become their own enemies and subsequently become others enemies as well. Love starts with self and expands out….a seed.
I mentioned this before and I saw it again last night and was so moved….Olympic sportsmanship! Lots of shaking hands and hugs between competitors like Michael Phelps and Chad de Clos! So pleased to see them congratulate each other last night after the 100! Lead by your example in all you do!
Happy birthday wishes to my sister-in-law Tami and brother-in-law Jacob today! Both of them are such a blessing and we love them very much!!!
Our Netflix movie for yesterday was Pride, Prejudice and Zombies and contrary to some of the reviews I read afterwards…we liked it. The main reason? MATT SMITH! I didn’t realize he was going to be in the film and he was PERFECT! Matt is my favorite Doctor from Dr. Who. I realized after watching him in this film, Dr. Who, the interview I’ve included…he is a “type” for me. I realized that Kyle is like a perfect combination of all the “types” of actors, musicians, historical figures, family, friends that I have been attracted to through my life. Apparently large foreheads figure in to my “types”….bigger brains LOL! I like my men to be more smart than good looking and with Kyle I was blessed to get both! HA!
Anyhew – I loved the “real” Pride and Prejudice film from 1995 with Colin Firth. My mother-in-law MADE me watch it lol, so glad she did. Sadly no zombie cameo from him (that I know of anyways!)

Matt Smith Talks Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Terminator Genisys and Doctor Who
Published on Jul 17, 2015
Matt Smith’s a busy guy right now. Not only did Terminator Genisys just hit theaters, but he also had two films in Hall H during San Diego Comic-Con this year, Patient Zero and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. We actually touched on all three and Doctor Who during my my one-on-one interview, but the focus was PPZ. The film is based on the Seth Grahame-Smith novel of the same name which puts a unique spin on the Jane Austen classic, Pride and Prejudice. It’s the same characters, period and location, but in Grahame-Smith’s version, the English countryside is in the middle of a zombie outbreak and the Bennet sisters are skilled zombie slayers. Smith’s Mr. Collins, on the other hand, would rather flaunt his wealth and connections rather than get his hands dirty.
During our interview, we discussed how Smith’s version of Collins differs from what we get in the book, how Collins is the main source of comedic relief in the film, whether or not Smith shot any material for Terminator Genisys that didn’t make it into the final cut of the film, Smith’s thoughts on Peter Capaldi’s work in Doctor Who and loads more.
