Hello there! Hope this finds you doing fantastic today. It’s been an awesome couple of days here weather-wise and personally. Our Thursday morning started with a wonderful visit with my friend Sarah who is opening her new practice location in Ft. Worth next Monday and my Mom and Dad arrived after their escape from the “true” cold of the South Dakota winter! AWESOME!

Today we went to visit a place we’d talked about going with them on previous visits, the Botanic Garden and Conservatory in Ft. Worth (I posted pics from when Kyle and I went last year). It was a little barren this time of year, but it was well worth the trip no matter what! This time we were able to visit the conservatory. We couldn’t last time because they had to repair windows damaged by hailstorms. On the way home, we had yummy burgers at Grumps in Burleson for lunch. Mom and Dad hadn’t been there before. At home, aside from two VERY excited dogs, we had lots of dessert options. We had the cookies and chocolate pudding dessert I had made and also delicious rhubarb cake Mom brought along. She also brought me some rhubarb jam! Rhubarb doesn’t grow here – not cold enough. This afternoon I managed to continue my winning streak against my Dad in cribbage but when he, Kyle and I played, Kyle finally ended it! It’s all luck of the cards but it sure feels good when the luck is in your favor!

Mom’s chocolate dessert:
crust: mix 1/2 cup melted butter with 1 cup flour and you can add 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Press into an 9×13 baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Let it cool and then add 2nd layer: mix 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 cup Cool whip and 8 oz of Philadelphia Cream cheese (I use a mixer to get a nice smooth consistency). 3rd layer is 2 packages of instant chocolate pudding (or pudding of choice) with 3 cups milk and 1 tsp extract. Top all with remaining Cool Whip and nuts if desired. Chill and serve!
