10 Sept 2015 – Before and After – challenge of revisiting 9/11/2001

Just peeking in after having a major shit-storm of sorts fall upon me but it’s alllllll gooood!  Thank God I have  loving family, friends, neighbors, complete strangers and all of Momma Natures creation.  Once the dust settles more and I’m back at home with my own stuff, then I’ll share more of what happened.

My editor’s topic for today correlates to what we all know as 9/11/2001 – the day almost the entire world stood still.

I could go into a long dissertation on this topic but by doing so, I give the horrors of that day the power I need for today and all the days I’m blessed to remain here.  If I keep focusing on all the “BEFORE’s” then any chance of a “NOW” gets further and further away….mired in the layers of the past.

My snippets of Sage wisdom today:  Stay in the now, Be here, Let Go of the past (Doesn’t mean forget but it does mean forgiveness and letting the past go with love) What you focus on expands so if you keep thinking of the bad stuff from the past, you manifest it in your current reality….like a magnet.

Serenity Prayer

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serenity_PrayerReinhold Niebuhr

The most well-known form of the prayer attributed to Niebuhr is a late version, as it includes a reference to grace not found before 1951:[1]

God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

I like this version a lot — we used part of it in AA, I didn’t realize this until today!  Awesome sauce!

Tomorrow is the 14th anniversary of a day we don’t want to forget.  The pitfall I see about this trauma is some of us are like a child out trying to fly a kite on a windy and stormy day.  They are holding on the kite string to the past so tightly they cannot see any thing else.  They don’t even notice when all they have left is the string!  I’m done with “BEFORE’s” and am going to let them go with love in my own personal space and hope others will to.

I love you my friends and family.  I hope you have a blessed day and know how precious and unique you are — a shining star!  SHINE SHINE SHINE!  😛
